HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN STEVENAGE, TITMORE GREEN AND LILLEY ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-
1. that length of Calder Way, Stevenage from its junction with Orwell Avenue north eastwards to its junction with Back Lane, a distance of approximately 247m.
An alternative route will be via Orwell Avenue, Great Ashby Way, Canterbury Way, A1072 Martins Way, A602 Hitchin Road, B197 (Graveley Road/High Street), Church Lane and Back Lane.
2. that length of Stevenage Road, Titmore Green from its junction with Chantry Lane eastwards, south westwards and westwards to its junction with Lower Titmore Green, a distance of approximately 400m.
An alternative route will be via Chantry Lane, Stevenage Road, Blakemore End Road and Stevenage Road.
3. that length of West Street, Lilley from its junction with Lilley Bottom Road south eastwards a distance of approximately 260m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS
IN SHEPHALL LANE, STEVENAGE AND BURNELL RISE,
LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Shephall Lane, Stevenage from its junction with Broadwater Crescent north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Parkway, a distance of approximately 201m.
An alternative route will be via Broadwater Crescent and Parkway.
2. that length of Burnell Rise, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with High Avenue north eastwards to its junction with Spring Road, a distance of approximately 373m.
An alternative route will be via High Avenue, Campers Road and Spring Road. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF STATION WAY, LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Station Way, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with Bridge Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 70m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Station Place, Broadway, Spring Road and Station Way.
The Order is needed because telecommunication works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ICKNIELD WAY, LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Icknield Way, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with Wilbury Hills Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 138m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Wilbury Hills Road, Bedford Road and Icknield Way.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON B197 STEVENAGE ROAD, KNEBWORTH) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of B197 Stevenage Road, Knebworth from a point 70m north west of its junction with Deards End Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 500m ("the Road"), when signs are in place. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE WESTERN SIDE OF A602 MONKSWOOD WAY, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the west side of A602 Monkswood Way, Stevenage from a point 191m north west of its junction with Elder Way north westwards for a distance of approximately 150m ("the Cycle Track").
Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 June 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN WILLIAN ROAD, HITCHIN) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Willian Road, Hitchin from its junction with Purwell Lane north westwards to its junction with A505 Cambridge Road, a distance of approximately 215m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Willian Road, Queenswood Drive and A505 Cambridge Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HIGH STREET, WALKERN) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of High Street, Walkern from its junction with Benington Road north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 36m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Benington Road, Walkern Road, High Street, A602 (Hooks Cross/Broadhall Way) Gresley Way, B1037 Stevenage Road and High Street.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 25 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS FOOTPATHS IN STEVENAGE) ORDER NO.3 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath ("the Footpaths"):-
1. the footpath fronting Nos.52-56 Longfields, Stevenage from its junction with Longfields north westwards, northwards and westwards to its junction with Oakfields, a distance of approximately 83m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Longfields, the footway situated on the north side of Oakfields Close and the footway situated on the east side of Oakfields.
2. the footpath fronting Nos.58-64 Longfields, Stevenage from its junction with Longfields northwards for a distance of approximately 37m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Longfields, the footway situated on the north side of Oakfields Close, the footway situated on the east side of Oakfields and the footpath fronting Nos.52-56 Longfields.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 June 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK/FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF 'ASHTREE PRIMARY SCHOOL', STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles/ pedestrians from using the cycle track/footpath situated on the west side of 'Ashtree Primary School', Stevenage from its junction with Chertsey Rise north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 176m ("the Cycle Track/Footpath"). An alternative route will be via Chertsey Rise, Burwell Road, Shephall Way, Six Hills Way, the cycle track situated beneath and on the south side of Six Hills Way and the cycle track/footpath situated on the west side of Marlborough Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track/Footpath.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 June 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN PERIWINKLE LANE, HITCHIN) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Periwinkle Lane, Hitchin from its junction with the Water Lane/ Strathmore Avenue roundabout north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Grove Road, a distance of approximately 191m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Strathmore Avenue, Stormont Road and Grove Road.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS AND CYCLE TRACK IN STEVENAGE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of cycle track ("the Cycle Track") and roads ("the Roads") will be:-
To prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the south east side of A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage from its junction with Fishers Green Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 210m. Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of A1072 Gunnels Wood Road/Martins Way, Stevenage from a point 80m north west of its junction with the Bridge Road West/Clovelly Way roundabout north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 1600m.
To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of A602 Hitchin Road, Stevenage from its junction with A602 Lytton Way north westwards to its junction with the A1072 Gunnels Wood Road/A1072 Martins Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 291m. The Order is needed because bridge works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track and Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 25 June 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track and Roads. NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the following lengths of cycle tracks ("the Cycle Tracks"), except for access:-
1. the cycle track situated on the west side of the A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage from a point 305m north west of its northernmost junction with Whittle Way north westwards for a distance of approximately 52m.
Pedal cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.
2. the cycle track situated on the south west side of A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage from a point 304m north west of its junction with Six Hills Way north westwards for a distance of approximately 35m.
Pedal cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.
3. the cycle track situated on the north east side of A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage from a point 125m south east of its junction with Leydon Road south eastwards and westwards for a distance of approximately 30m. Pedal cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Tracks.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 June 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2024
ROAD HUMP AND PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS NOTICE (NORTH ROAD, FORSTER WAY, WESLEYAN ROAD, STEVENAGE) 2024
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Stevenage as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice.
It is also proposed under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to construct 6 Toucan crossing facilities and 1 Pegasus crossing facility on those lengths of road in Stevenage as specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice. It is also proposed under sections 90A - 90F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, to install a junction speed table and flat topped road humps in those lengths of road in Stevenage as specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice. SCHEDULE 3: Junction speed table to be installed on those sections of road
listed below and as set out in the scheme plans -
Parts of North Road (north to south arm) and Wesleyan Road - from a point
17 metres south of a point in line with the projected south kerbline of
Wesleyan Road, northwards for 46.5 metres and eastwards into Wesleyan
Road for 21.5 metres.
The raised speed table will be constructed at a height of approximately 65mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:20.
