What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) Gunville Road (Part), Winterslow; from its junction with The Common to its property known as Glencoe House to enable Openreach to carry out access to communication equipment and associated works. Alternative route via Gunville Road (unaffected length) - Mill Lane - A30 - Clough Lane - The Flood - The Plantation - Livery Road - Weston Lane - The Common and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 July 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: B) Church Road, Pitton and Farley; from its junction with Parsonage Hill to its junction with Bens Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via The Street-Parsonage Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 until 03 July 2024. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
SECTION 16A OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to Temporarily introduce a One-Way traffic restriction on the following roads in the specified directions: a) Howgare Road (Part), Broad Chalke; from the county boundary in a northerly direction to its junction with Newtown. Direction of permitted travel northbound only. b) Newtown, Broad Chalke; from its junction with C12 High Road to its junction with Howgare Road. Direction of permitted travel south westbound only. c) UC Road (Bury Orchard), Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with C65 The Causeway. Direction of permitted travel northbound only. And to close temporarily to all traffic (access will be maintained for residents): d) Knighton Road, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Newtown for its entire length. e) Bulls Lane, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Howgare Road to its junction with C65 South Street. And to close temporarily to all traffic, including pedestrians: f) Bridleway 6, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Hogware Road to its junction with Footpath 39, Broad Chalke. g) Footpath 9, Broad Chalke; from its junction with Bridleway 6, Broad Chalke to its junction with Footpath 10, Broad Chalke. h) Footpath 10, Broad Chalke; from its northern junction with Footpath 9, Broad Chalke to its southern junction with Footpath 9, Broad Chalke. The Order is made to ensure public safety during the period of Chalke Valley History Festival. The restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 24 June 2024 and it is anticipated that the restrictions will be in operation until 01 July 2024. Closures f) - h) will come into operation on 29 June 2024 and will be required between the hours of 12:00 and 17:00 for 2 days. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (No.32) 2023 (Ref TTRO 9608)
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily, to all vehicles, the length of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. The Order, which previously came into operation on 23 October 2023 will now recommence on 29 June 2024. It is required to enable carriageway patching, surface dressing and associated maintenance works. The Order has a maximum duration period of 18 months. It is anticipated that advance signs will be deployed 2 weeks prior to the closure dates. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The closures are anticipated to take place between 29 June 2024 and 03 August 2024. Schedule 1. Clarendon Road (Part), Alderbury; from its property known as Oaklands to its junction with Lucewood Lane. 2. Grimstead Road (Part), Grimstead, Pitton and Farley; from its junction with Long Drove to its junction with Lucewood Lane. 3. C277 (Part), Teffont and Dinton; from its junction with The Street to its junction with B3089. 4. Street Lane, Sedgehill and Semley; from its junction with A350 to its junction with The Pitts. 5. Crate Lane, Sedgehill and Semley; from its junction with Street Lane to its junction with The Pitts. 6. Ben Lane, Pitton and Farley; from its junction with The Street to its junction with Long Drove. 7. Pincroft Lane (Part), Winterslow; from its junction with Clough Lane to its junction with Mill Lane. 8. B3089 (Part), Hindon, Berwick St Leonard and Fonthill Bishop; from a point approximately 500m east of its junction with A350 to its junction with C43. 9. Duck Lane, Laverstock and Ford; from its junction with Riverside Road for its entire length. 10. Vale Road, Redlynch; from its junction with Morgans Vale Road to its junction with B3080. Alternative routes (vice versa) 1. Via Clarendon Road (unaffected length) - Green Drove -Crockfod Road - Grimstead Road - Southampton Road. 2. Via Grimstead Road (unaffected length) - Long Drove - Lucewood Lane. 3. Via B3098 - The Street. 4/5. Via Pitts Lane -Bridewell Lane - C308 - A350. 6. Via Long Drove - Grimstead Road - The Street. 7. Via Pincroft Lane (unaffected length) -A30 - Clough Lane. 8. Via B3089 (unaffected length) - A350 - A303 - A36 - A30. 9. No alternative route is available. 10. Via Morgans Vale Road - B3080.
