(Catrail Road, Galashiels) (Temporary No Waiting) Order 2024
The Scottish Borders Council (Catrail Road, Galashiels) (Temporary No Waiting) Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 09:30 on 26 June 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 28 June 2024 – 24 hour restriction. The Order is required for Scottish Water ironwork repairs.
When the Order comes into effect, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on both sides of Catrail Road, Galashiels from Birks View to Number 24 Catrail Road.

(Main Street, Newstead) (Temporary Closing) Order 2024
The Scottish Borders Council (Main Street, Newstead) (Temporary Closing) Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 26 June 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 5 July 2024 – 24 hour closure. The Order is required for Scottish Power works. When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Main Street, Newstead from St John’s Wynd to Burnside Cottage.
The alternative route for westbound traffic is via the B6361, A6091, B6374, Dean Road and the B6361 to the point of closure, for eastbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(Stirling Place & Stirling Street, Galashiels)
(Temporary One Way) Order 2024
The Scottish Borders Council (Stirling Place & Stirling Street, Galashiels)
(Temporary One Way) Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 30 June 2024 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. The Order is required for BT Openreach works.
When the Order comes into effect One Way Orders in a southerly direction will be in force on the following roads in Galashiels:
(a) Stirling Place – from Ladhope Vale to Stirling Street; and
(b) Stirling Street – from Stirling Place to the current one-way system.
No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle in a northerly direction.
The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Stirling Street, Market Street, Cornmill Square, Bank Street, High Street, Bridge Place and Ladhope Vale to the point of restriction.
