Footpath no 22, Footpath Diversion Order

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF BRENT TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 (as amended)

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BRENT (FOOTPATH NO. 22 DIVERSION ORDER) (NO. 11 ORDER 2024 1.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mayor and Burgesses of the London Borough of Brent (the "Council") has made the above order on 20"' June 2024, under Section 257 of the above Act. The effect of the order will be to:-

2.1 divert the existing footpath shown as a solid black line on the deposited Network Rail Public Right of Way Relocation Plan, drawing no. 155370-TGP-1706-LEC1-SK-ECV-000001 REV P01, between points A -B - C - D marked on the plan. The existing footpath starts from the east end of Northwick Avenue marked point A on the plan, travelling 10m southeast to point B and then eastwards for a distance of 72.5m across the railway to point C on the marked plan and continuing southeast for 16.1 m to the west end of The Ridgeway which is marked D on the plan.

2.2 create an alternative footpath instead shown as a dashed black line on the deposited Network Rail Public Right of Way Relocation Plan, drawing no. 155370-TGP-1706-LEC1-SK-ECV-000001 REV P01 and extends in a straight alignment from point A to point D. The diverted footpath No. 22 will start from the east end of Northwick Avenue marked point A on the plan, northwards for a distance of 91.6m across the railway to the west end of The Ridgeway which is marked D on the plan. The footpath will have a width of 2 metres.

2.3 The diversion of the footpath is to enable Network Rail to address issues of corrosion and potential collapse of the footbridge by demolishing the existing footbridge and constructing a new 2m wide bridge. The new bridge will also be realigned to remove the dog-legs at either end to provide a straight alignment

3. A copy of the order and the plan may be inspected and requested free of charge at Brent Civic Centre, Main Reception Desk, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ, during the civic centre opening hours.

4. Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent or delivered in writing, to the Head of Highways Management (FAO John Fletcher), 4th Floor West Wing, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ or by email: Highwaysearches@brent.gov.uk, quoting the reference TSU/23/698/MS, no later than 17" July 2024, being 28 days following the date of this notice.

5. If no representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Mayor and Burgesses of the London Borough of Brent may itself confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.

6. The diversion of the footpath shall have effect on the date on which the Council confirms the order and certifies that the terms of Article 2 of this notice have been complied with or the date on which the Secretary of State confirms the order, as applicable.
