Wollaton to Lenton, Nottinghamshire - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic to Allow Bridge Repair Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 14(1)(a) AND (7) THE A52 TRUNK ROAD (WOLLATON TO LENTON, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A52 Trunk Road between Wollaton and Lenton in the City of Nottingham and in the County of Nottinghamshire to allow bridge repair works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close –
(1) the eastbound carriageway of the A52 from its roundabout junction with Wollaton Vale and the A6464 Woodside Road (Priory Roundabout), at Wollaton, to its roundabout junction with the A6200 and A6514 Middleton Boulevard slip roads (QMC Roundabout) at Lenton;
(2) the westbound carriageway of the A52 from its junction with QMC Roundabout, to its junction with Priory Roundabout;
(3) the circulatory carriageway of QMC Roundabout;
(4) the slip road leading to the eastbound carriageway of the A52 from QMC Roundabout; and
(5) the slip road from the westbound carriageway of the A52 to QMC Roundabout.
(6) close the footway adjacent to QMC Roundabout, between its junction with the slip road leading to the northbound carriageway of the A6514 Middleton Boulevard and its junction with the slip road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A6514 Middleton Boulevard.
The work will be carried out in phases and is expected to start on Monday 8 July 2024 and continue for approximately 12 months. Overnight closures will be carried out between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours.
There will be some full weekend closures from 20:00 hours on Friday to 06:00 hours on Monday. The order will come into force on Friday 5 July 2024.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures. Access to properties will be maintained at all times. Pedestrians engaged in police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or works related activities will be exempt from the footway closures.
Diversion routes via Woodside Road and the A6005 and vice versa will be signed.
