What is happening?

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chapel Street, Steeple Bumpstead in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Lion Meadow for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th July 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit
(AD03164094554 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pipe repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via North Street, Water Lane, Hempstead Road, Bumpstead Road, High Street, Hill Road, Hempstead Road, Sampford Road, Walden Road, Moor End Road, High Street, Finchingfield Road, Hawkins Hill, Sampford Road, Brent Hall Road, The Green and vice versa (with access only into Haverhill Road, Chapel Street, Finchingfield Road, Cornish Hall End, Little London Hill, Howe Street, Duck End and The Causeway). The Order will come into effect on 20th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Haverhill Road, Steeple Bumpstead in the District of Braintree, from its junction with The Endway to its junction with Blois Road a distance of approximately 305m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th July 2024 for 49 days, or where stated on a valid permit
(AD01461886011/3 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via A1017, A1307, B1052, B1053 and B1057 and vice versa (with access only into The Endway, Sturmer Road, Hill Lane, Blois Road, Broad Green, Blois Road, Chapel Street, Finchingfield Road, Bumpstead Road, High Street, Hill Road, Hempstead Road, Bummpstead Road and Haverhill Road). The Order will come into effect on 21st June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
