What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE A616 TRUNK ROAD (LAYBYS BETWEEN WORTLEY ROAD AND FLOUCH ROUNDABOUT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A616 Trunk Road, in the District of Barnsley, to enable grass cutting works to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start on Monday 15 July 2024 for 5 months or until completed and will take place between 6am and 8pm.

The effect of the Order will be, to close, at times during the works, the laybys and bus stop areas adjacent to the A616 between Wortley Road overbridge and Flouch Roundabout, a distance of approximately 10080 metres.

Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibitions
(which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes
into force on 14 July 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
