(KING EDWARDS ROAD, BARKING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE OF MAKING
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that In order to facilitate a mobile crane operation to erect a static tower crane, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has made a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 with the consent of Reside for measures relating to the portion of Salting Street.
2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Saturday 22 June 2024. The works expected for:
* Works to facilitate a mobile crane operation to take 2 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Sunday 23 June 2024. The works leading to the closures is expected to be undertaken between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm.
However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -
* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on King Edwards Road, both sides, from its junction with Ripple Road (A13) for a distance of 49 metres in a southerly direction.
* Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Access) on Salting Street, both sides, from its junction with Mast Street to its junction with King Edwards Road.
* Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Access) on King Edwards Road, both sides from a point 49 metres south of its junction with Ripple Road to its junction with Perth Road.
* Prohibit all pedestrians on King Edwards Road, east side footpath, from its junction with Ripple Road for a distance of 49 metres in a southerly direction.
* Suspend the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone J 8.30am-9pm bay on King Edwards Road, east side, from a point 16 metres south of its junction with Ripple Road for 17 metres in a southerly direction.
* Suspend in part the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone J 8.30am-9pm bays at the following locations:
* King Edwards Road, west side, from a point 1.3 metres north of the projected north-western building line of No.2 King Edwards Road for a distance of 8.5 metres in a northerly direction.
* King Edwards Road, east side, from a point 1.3 metres north of the north-western building line of No.2 King Edwards Road for a distance of 6.3 metres in a northerly direction.
4. An alternative route for pedestrians will be maintained and signed:
? Via King Edwards Road east side footpath, King Edwards Road west side footpath and Vice Versa.
5. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
* Via Ripple Road northbound carriageway, St Pauls Road westbound and northbound carriageway, Axe Street eastbound carriageway, Ripple Road southbound and eastbound carriageway, Movers Lane southbound carriageway and Perth Road westbound carriageway.
* Via Perth Road eastbound carriageway, Movers Lane northbound carriageway and Ripple Road westbound carriageway.
