What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (BROAD STREET, DAGENHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE OF INTENT

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate gas mains replacement works the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 5 August 2024. The works expected for:

* Works to take 42 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Monday 15 September 2024 with the work to be undertaken between 7.00am and 7.00pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:-

* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Broad Street, both sides, from a point in line with the northwestern property boundary of No. 59 Broad Street, for 30 metres in a southerly direction.

* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Ford Road, eastbound carriageway, from a point in line with the eastern property boundary of No. 74 Ford Road to its junction with Broad Street.

* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Ford Road, northeast bound carriageway, from its junction with Broad Street to a point 2.5 metres southwest of the southwestern property boundary of No. 66 Ford Road.

* Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Access) on Broad Street from its junction with Heathway to a point in point in line with the northwestern property boundary of No. 59 Broad Street.

* Introduce a one-way in Ford Road, westbound carriageway (in a westerly direction) from its junction with Broad Street, for a distance of 38 metres in a westerly direction.

* Introduce a one-way in Ford Road, southwest bound carriageway (in a south-westerly direction) from its junction with Bluebird Lane, in a south-westerly direction to its junction with Broad Street.

* Introduce a banned right turn from Broad Street into Ford Road.

* Introduce a banned right turn from Ford Road into Broad Street.

* Suspend the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone HW Mon-Sat 8.30am-5.30pm bays at the following locations:

* Ford Road, north side, from a point 10.5 metres west of its junction with Broad Street for 31.4 metres in a westerly direction, o Ford Road, south side, from a point 36.7 metres west of its junction with Broad Street for a distance of 15.3 metres in a westerly direction, o Ford Road, south side, from a point 10 metres west of its junction with Broad Street for 15.9 metres in a westerly direction, o Ford Road, northwest side, from a point 12.7 metres northeast of its junction with Broad Street for a distance of 9.4 metres in a northeasterly direction, o Ford Street, southeast side, from a point 6.5 metres northeast of its junction with Broad Street, for a distance of 11.5 metres in a northeasterly direction.

* Part suspend the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone HW Mon-Sat 8.30am-5.30pm bays at the following locations:

* Broad Street, northeast side, from the common property boundary of No's 55 and 57 Broad Street for a distance of 5.5 metres in a southeasterly direction.

* Broad Street, southwest side, from a point 3.8 metres southeast of the projected common property boundary of No's. 55 and 57 Broad Street, for a distance of 15.2 metres in a southeasterly direction.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

* Via Broad Street southbound carriageway, Whitebarn Lane eastbound carriageway, Oval Road North eastbound carriageway, Ballards Road (B178) southbound carriageway, New Road (A1306) westbound carriageway, Heathway (A1240) northbound carriageway and Church Elm Lane eastbound carriageway.

* Via Heathway (A1240) southbound carriageway, New Road (A1306) eastbound carriageway, Ballards Road (B178) northbound carriageway Oval Road North westbound carriageway and Whitebarn Lane westbound carriageway.
