Coldean Lane, Brighton - Speed limit changes and prohibition of right turn
What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council("the Council") has on 12 June 2024 made the Orders named below under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into operation on 15 June 2024 will introduce various changes as detailed below:
BRIGHTON & HOVE (SPEED LIMIT)
CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2016 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.1 2024 (REF: TRO-46A-2023)
- Will change the speed limit on Coldean Lane. From Carden Avenue to a point approximately 169 metres north of Hawkhurst Road the speed limit will be 40 mph. The rest of the length of Coldean Lane (southwards to Lewes Road) the road will be restricted to the national speed limit of 30mph (by presence of streetlights)
BRIGHTON & HOVE (COLDEAN LANE) PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN ORDER 2024 (TRO-46B-2023)
- Introduce a no right turn from Coldean Lane onto Denman Place.
A copy of this Notice, the Orders as made and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Orders may be seen online at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/current-tros.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of these Orders or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirements of the Act or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which these Orders were made, apply to the High Court for that purpose.
