Swindon, Multiple Roads, Temporary Prohibitions & Restrictions

SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL SECTION 14 - THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD/FOOTPATH CLOSURES

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL made following orders:

(STR000850 PROW FP 10, WROUGHTON)

This Order is being introduced DEVEOPMENT WORKS and will impose a closure of PROW footpath WR10 Wroughton between Mill Lane and the Haul Road within Canalside, South Wichelstowe. Alternative route - Via the Haul Road which links Dalby Strand and Beckett Stand footways before joining Mill Lane. Order effective from the 19 June 2024 for 6 months.

(STR000846 GORDON GARDENS, SWINDON)

This Order is being introduced to allow works to Plaza 21 and will prohibit vehicles including cyclist from proceeding on Gordon Gardens between the junctions of Islington Street and College Street. One Way restriction on Gordon Gardens to be suspended to allow access to Car Park. Traffic to be diverted via Islington Street, Sanford Street and College Street. Order effective from the 3 July 2024 for 12 months but it is anticipated the restrictions will only be in place to the 9 January 2025.

(STR000859 VARIOUS ROADS, SWINDON TOWN CENTRE)

This Order is being introduced for resurfacing works and will impose a temporary closure of Cheltenham Street, Beales Close, Holbrook Way (part and overnight closure), Milford Street (part and overnight closure), Fleet Street and John Street (overnight closure) and restricted access to Henry Street. Traffic to be diverted via Station Road, Transfer Bridges Roundabout, County Road, Magic Roundabout, Fleming Way, Whalebridge Junction, Corporation Street and Manchester Road. Order effective from the 1 July 2024 for 6 months but it is anticipated the restrictions are only required until the 31 October 2024.

(STR000858 B4534 LADY LANE AND SALZGITTER DRIVE, SWINDON)

This Order is being introduced to allow works on the carriageway and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on B4534 Lady Lane between the junction with B4019 and Robincroft and B4534 Lady Lane and Salzgitter Junction. Traffic to be diverted via B4534 Lady Lane, Salzgitter Drive, Thamesdown Drive and vice versa. Order effective from the 15 July 2024 for 6 months but it is expected the closure is only in place until the 19 July 2024.

(STR000868 WILLIAM STREET, SWINDON)

This Order is being introduced to allow THAMES WATER to carry out sewer pipe repair works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on William Street outside No 97. Traffic to be diverted via Stanmore Street, Radnor Street, Cambria Bridge Road and William Street. Order effective from the 17 June 2024 for 6 months but it is expected the closure will be in force on the 17 June 2024 between the times of 9:30 and 15:30 only.

(STR000857 BROOME MANOR LANE, SWINDON)

This Order is being introduced for OPENREACH works and will impose a restriction on driving on Broome Manor Road in Hodson. Traffic to be diverted via B4005, Brimble Hill, Marlborough Road, Moormead Road, Swindon Road, Croft Road, Pipers Way and vice versa. Order effective from the 30 July 2024 for 6 months but it is anticipated the works will take place on the 30 July 2024 between the hours of 9:30 and 15:30 hours. Strategic Transport 14 June 2024
