Essex, Multiple Temporary Road/Footpath Closures due to Works.

What is happening?

(Footpath 14, Clavering)

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under section S14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 12 June 2025.

Effect of the order: Essex County Council has temporarily closed to all pedestrians under section 14(1) of The Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended) Footpath 14, Clavering in the District of Uttlesford, from where if leaves the road at Stickling Green, travelling south for approximately 260 metres to the Tennis Court at the Recreation Ground.

The Order came into effect 12 December 2023 and is required for the safety of the public due to river bank subsidence and erosion.

The alternative route will be via Stickling Green, Byway 10 -Clavering, Footpath 12 - Clavering, Footpath 14 - Clavering and vice versa.

This Order may be further extended by the Secretary of State if an extension is required.

(Mill Road, Henham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Road, Henham in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 500m north west of its junction with Henham Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th July 2024 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30043903743 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Henham Road, High Street, Station Road, Old Mead Road, Hall Road, Church Street and vice versa (with access only into Crow Street and Mill Road).

The Order will come into effect on 20th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(The Street, Manuden)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Street, Manuden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 25m south west of its junction with Maggots End Road for a distance of approximately 325m in a southerly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th July 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFKG5M0N -Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via The Street, Carters Hill, Hazelend Road, Gipsy Lane, Pines Hill, Silver Street, Cambridge Road, London Road, Cambridge Road, London Road, High Street, Wicken Road, Clatterbury Lane, High Street, Middle Street, Stortford Road, Manuden Road, Clavering Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Tye Green Road, Elsenham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tye Green Road, Elsenham in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 1420m south west then south east of its junction with Fullers Lane for a distance of approximately 105m in a south easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th July 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001WF8GWP7K - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while poling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Claypit Hill, Belmer Road, Burton End Road, Church Road, Chapel Hill, Silver Street, Pines Hill, Gipsy Lane, Stansted Road, Birchanger Roundabout, Bishops Stortford Bypass, Flyover At M11 Junction 8, M11 J8 Roundabout, Thremhall Avenue, Stane Street, Bury Lodge Lane, The Street, Dunmow Road, Parsonage Road, Waltham Hall Road, Elsenham Road, Hall Road, Fullers Lane, Tye Green Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Debden Road, Newport)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Debden Road, Newport in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Chalk Farm Lane for a distance of approximately 65m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th June 2024 for 1 night (22:00-06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL737BGK-40-05-240624 - Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge survey works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Debden Road, High Street, London Road, Widdington Road, Spring Hill, Widdington Road, Debden Road and vice versa. The Order came into effect on 6th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Water End Road, Ashdon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Water End Road, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 580m south west of its junction with Rock Lane for a distance of approximately 15m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th June 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06057554/AP - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

No alternative route is available (with access only into Water End Road).

The Order came into effect on 6th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Watery Lane, Manuden)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Watery Lane, Manuden in the Uttlesford, from its junction with Mallows Green Road for a distance of approximately 80m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th June 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001WF8H2J4G - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Mallows Green Road, Watery Lane and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 6th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
