What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Various Roads, Thorpe-le-Soken)

(Restricted Roads, 30mph Speed Limit, and 40mph Speed Limit) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 81, 82(1) and (2)(b), 83(2), 84(1)(a) and (2), and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

Effect of the order: To Extend: a '30mph Speed Limit' (Currently a 40mph Speed Limit)

Road: B1033 Frinton Road

Description: From a point approximately 17 metres east of its junction with Digby Way (western junction), Thorpe-le-Soken, east for approximately 32 metres.

The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Thorpe-le-Soken) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 2020' is hereby revoked in its entirety, however, any roads not mentioned above shall continue in force by virtue of a new Order. 'The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Restricted Roads) (No.4) Order 2008' is hereby revoked insofar as it relates to those lengths of road, in the Parish of Thorpe-le-Soken, all other roads not mentioned above shall continue in force.

(The Greenway, Clacton-on-Sea) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Greenway, Clacton-on-Sea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with The Avenue for a distance of approximately 25m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th July 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MT00110233028 - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while boundary box and meter installation works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Burrs Road, The Crescent, The Avenue and vice versa

(with access only into The Greenway).

The Order will come into effect on 20th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
