Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and
Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Arcade Street Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Arcade Street Wigan commencing on 17/06/2024 to 28/06/2024 on Monday to Friday only.
The alternative route for traffic is: Wallgate, Library Street, Rodney Street, Harrogate Street, Darlington Street and King Street.
The Order is necessary to allow a new water and electric connection.
Public Footpath Hindley No.3 (Part) – Temporary Closure Order
Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Hindley No.3 (Part)) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from using part of Hindley
No. 03 from its junction with public footpath Ince No. 2 on Highfield Road at Point A as shown on the Notice Map at grid reference 361591 405256, south over the railway line to Point B at its junction with public footpath Hindley No. 1 as shown on the Notice Map at grid reference 361591 404887 for a distance of approximately 430 metre, for a period of 6 months commencing on 1st July 2024.
Please note there is no alternative route available.
The Order is necessary to safeguard the public whilst urgent necessary works are carried out to Networks Rail’s Deep Pit Footbridge, to accommodate electrification of the railway line below.
Notice of Variation of Parking Charges
Robin Park Leisure Centre – Loire Drive Car Parks
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 35C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and all other enabling powers, proposes to increase the charges levied for the use of the parking places on the following:
Off Street Parking
• Robin Park Leisure Centre – Loire Drive Car Parks
The new charges for the use of the parking places will be as follows:

The new rate of charges will take effect on 10th July 2024.
