Gravesham, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

GRAVESHAM AREA

A289 Wainscott Northern Bypass, Higham, ME2 3UG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To enable resurfacing works on the A2 Cobham including road markings, studs and loops replacement. Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Gravesend Road, Higham, on or after 8th July 2024 for up to 19 nights between 20:00hrs and 06:00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the entry Slip Road from the A226 Gravesend Road to the London Bound Entry Slip on to the A2. The A289 Wainscott Bypass needs to be fully closed to prevent London bound traffic joining the A2.

The A2 WB non-motorway traffic diversion route will be via the A226 Gravesend Road, A226 Rochester Road, A226 East Milton Road, A226 Milton Road, A226 Parrock Road, A226 Lord Street, A226 Windmill Street, A226 Woodville Place, A227 Wrotham Road, A226 Rathmore Road, A226 Darnley Road, A226 Overcliffe, A226 London Road, A226 Thames Way, A2260 Ebbsfleet Gateway, and the A2260 Southfleet Road towards the A2 Springhead Interchange.

 

B261 Old Road West, Gravesend, DA11 0JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of repairs to a water main, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B261 Old Road West, Gravesend, on or after 24th June 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 247.

The alternative route is via:

Westbound: B261 Old Road West, B261 Dover Road East, B261 Dover Road, Rosherville Way, A226 Thames Way, B1275 London Road, B1275 Overcliffe, A226 New Road, A226 Bath Street, A226 West Street, Crooked Lane, The Terrace, Harmer Street, Berkley Crescent, A226 Milton Road, A226 Parrock Street, A226 Lord Street, A226 Windmill Street, A226 Woodville Place, A227 Wrotham Road, B261 Old Road West.

Eastbound: B261 Old Road West, A227 Wrotham Road, A226 Rathmore Road, A226 Darnley Road, A226 New Road, B1275 Overcliffe, B1275 London Road, A226 Thames Way, Rosherville Way, B261 Dover Road, B261 Dover Road East, B261 Old Road West.

 

Hever Court Road, Gravesend, DA12 5EG (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow footway reconstruction works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order for a temporary mandatory speed limit of 30mph to be imposed on a section of Hever Court Road, Gravesend on or after 8th July 2024 for up to 19 days between 07.00hrs and 17.00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The 30mph speed limit applies in both directions between numbers 61 and 95, to the extent indicated by signage clearly displayed on site.

 

Zion Place, Gravesend, DA12 9SS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Zion Place, Gravesend, on or after 24th June 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 8.

The alternative route is via A227 Wrotham Road, B261 Old Road West, Windmill Street, Zion Place and vice versa.

 

VARIOUS ROADS, GRAVESHAM (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of gas mains replacement by SGN, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic as per the below.

Sun Lane – between School Road and Whitehall Road – 8/07/24 – 12/08/2024
Diversion: Sharland Road, Whitehill Road

Cornwell Avenue – junction with Whitehill Road – 08/07/24 – 12/08/24
Diversion: Jellicoe Avenue, Whitehill Parade, Whitehill Road

Kitchener Avenue - whole Length – 25/07/24 – 30/09/24
Diversion: Phase 1 Jellicoe Avenue West, Northridge Road, Smarts Road
Phase 2 Sun Lane, Smarts Road, Central Avenue, Elm Road

Jellicoe Avenue – junction with Kitchener Avenue – 12/08/24 – 26/08/24
Diversion: Whitehill Parade, Whitehill Road, Sun Lane

Jellicoe West Avenue - junction with Kitchener Avenue – 12/08/24 – 26/08/24
Diversion: Northridge Road, Smarts Road, Sun Lane

Kings Drive - junction with Kitchener Avenue - 19/08/24 – 01/09/24
Diversion: Elm Road, Kitchener Avenue

Queens Road - junction with Kitchener Avenue – 19/08/24 – 01/09/24
Diversion: Princes Road, York Road, Kitchener Avenue

York Road - junction with Kitchener Avenue – 19/08/24 – 01/09/24
