What is happening?

(U693n CRIFFEL COURT, U695n CRIFFEL ROAD, U931n STEWARTRY AVENUE AND U932n STEWARTRY COURT, DUMFRIES) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS GIVEN that The Council has made the above named Traffic Regulation Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Details may be inspected between 14/06/24 and 26/07/24 online at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk/ or by arrangement (Tel - 01387 271100). Any person wishing to challenge the validity of the Traffic Regulation Order on the grounds that it is not within the Statutory powers set out in the Act or relevant regulations, or that any requirement of the Act or relevant regulations has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Traffic Regulation Order was made, make an application to the Court of Session for that purpose, to the Interim Assistant Director, Transport and Infrastructure, Economy and Infrastructure, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Militia House, English Street, Dumfries DG1 2HR, to be received by 26/07/24.

(CLOSEBURN GALA PARADE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2024 
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close various roads in Closeburn on Saturday 22/6/24 from 12:00 to 13:00. Parade route: Firmuir Ave, Shawsholm Rd, A76(T), C135n. The closure is necessary to facilitate activities associated with Closeburn Gala Parade. No alternative route is available. Minor delays should be expected for the duration of parade. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

(U239N HERRIES AVENUE, MARTINTON PLACE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2024 
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close the U239n from The Vets Centre to 4 Martinton Place, Dumfries from 0700 on 22/06/24 to 0700 on 24/06/2024. The closure is necessary to facilitate kerbing works, new pedestrian crossing and carriageway resurfacing works, in association with new housing development. Alternative route available via Martinton Road, Downs Way, Tinwald Downs Road, A701 and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

The general effect of the Order will be to make it unlawful to drive a motor vehicle at speed exceeding 20 miles per hour or 40 miles per hour along the lengths of road detailed in the schedule to the Order. Full details of the draft Order may be inspected between 14/06/2024 and 05/07/2024 online at www.tellmescotland.gov. uk or by arrangement (Tel – 030 33 33 3000. THE DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL (A709 LOCKERBIE ROAD, DUMFRIES) (TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to impose a temporary speed limit on A709 Lockerbie Road, Dumfries from 00.00hrs on 01/07/2024 until 23.59hrs on 31/12/2024, effective only when identified by appropriate signs. The temporary speed limits are necessary to alleviate the likelihood of danger to the public caused by the potential conflict and collision between vehicles, pedal cycles and pedestrians on the roads stated by traffic travelling at speed.
