What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

THANET AREA

B2052 College Road & Tivoli Road, Margate, CT9 5SY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow road works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2052 College Road & Tivoli Road, Margate, on or after 25th June 2024 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The closures will be a rolling closure, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only.

B2052 College Road will be closed between the junctions of A254 Ramsgate Road and Nash Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A254 Ramsgate Road, A254 Queens Avenue, A254 Eaton Road, A254 Belgrave Road, A28 Marine Terrace, A28 Canterbury Road, B2052 George V Avenue, B2052 Hartsdown Road, Tivoli Road and Beatrice Road.

Tivoli Road will be closed between the junctions of B2052 Hartsdown Road and Tivoli Park Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 Hartsdown Road, All Saints Avenue, Tivoli Park Avenue and vice versa.

Tivoli Road will be closed between the junctions of Marlborough Road and A254 Eaton Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via A254 Eaton Road, A255 Grosvenor Gardens, A255 High Street, A254 Ramsgate Road and B2052 College Road.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Beatrice Road, A254 Ramsgate Road and A254 Queens Avenue.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Beatrice Road, Margate, CT9 5SY (PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow road works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Beatrice Road, Margate, on or after 24th June 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will have a temporary prohibition of right turn imposed, outside Margate Foot Clinic and at the junction with A254 Ramsgate Road, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 College Road, Yoakley Square, Perkins Avenue, A254 Ramsgate Road and vice versa.

The alternative route for any through traffic for vehicles over 7.5T is via B2052 College Road, A255 St Peters Road, A255 Dane Court Road, A256 Westwood Road, Poorhole Lane, A254 Ramsgate Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Chester Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8RZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow road works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chester Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 24th June 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Essex Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Essex Road, The Grove, A28 Canterbury Road, Queens Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Flying Quarter Festival (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow the Flying Quarter Festival to take place, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2050 Manston Road East, Minster, on or after 28th June 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

B2050 Manston Road East will have a mandatory 30MPH speed limit imposed, from the junction of B2190 Spitfire Way to The Meadows, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

George Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9SA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of George Street, Ramsgate, on or after 26th June 2024 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Cavendish Street and High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via High Street, Hardres Street, A255 Boundary Road, B2054 Victoria Road, B2054 Victoria Parade, B2054 Wellington Crescent, B2054 Madeira Walk, B2054 Harbour Parade, B2054 Royal Parade, Leopold Street, Queen Street, Effingham Street and George Street.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via George Street, Meeting Street and High Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Plumstone Road, Monkton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Plumstone Road, Monkton, on or after 9th July 2024 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Seamark Road and Minster Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Minster Road, The Street, Acol Hill, Crispe Road, Seamark Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Southwood Road, Ramsgate, CT11 0BH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Southwood Road, Ramsgate, on or after 26th June 2024 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 122, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashburnham Road, A255 High Street, A255 Nethercourt Hill, A255 Nethercourt Circus, B2054 London Road, St Mildreds Avenue, Queen Bertha Road, Southwood Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

St Johns Avenue, Ramsgate, CT12 6NH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Johns Avenue, Ramsgate, on or after 24th June 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Bengal Road and Hobart Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via St Johns Avenue, St Johns Crescent, St Johns Avenue, Bush Avenue, B2014 Newington Road, B2050 Manston Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 New Haine Road and A256 Haine Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A256 Haine Road, B2050 Manston Road, B2014 Newington Road, Bush Avenue, St Johns Avenue, St Johns Crescent and St Johns Avenue.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
