NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close, introduce a temporary prohibition of waiting at anytime and to introduce a temporary 20mph speed limit on the following roads throughout their entire lengths:

Boxgrove, Lavant and Westhampnett: New Road; Lavant: Fordwater Road.

These road closures are needed to protect public safety whilst the 2024 carriageway retexturing programme is carried out. It is expected that the affected roads will be closed for upto 3 days. 20mph speed limits may be required during the works and between phases of the works. The exact dates and duration of the works and the traffic management in each location will be confirmed in advance locally nearer the time.

The Order will come into effect on 1 July 2024 and remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works programme is completed, whichever is earlier.

During the works alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
