What is happening?

BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD
(PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY CLOSURE - BL/15/1 BOWES VIEW) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from the Public Right of Way BL/15/1 Bowes View from a point 120 metres west of its junction with Angel Way in a westerly direction for a distance 10 metres. The Order is required to allow for footpath construction works. It is proposed that the Order will come into force at 09:00 on the 28 June 2024. The maximum duration of the Order will be 6 months, however the works are expected to be completed by 14:00 on the 28 June 2024. All pedestrians and cyclists (expect pedestrians associated with the works and emergency service operatives on duty) will be prohibited from the public right of way until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition, there will be signed alternative route in place.
