What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U1504 SMITHS ROAD, SOTTERLEY

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U1504 Smiths Road, Sotterley from 220 metres north of the junction with Sotterley Common for 200 metres northbound to facilitate safety during access to underground structure. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the B1127 Sotterley Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 21/06/2024 but, If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer If extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4651 FALCONER AVENUE

AND U4612 SILVER STREET, OLD NEWTON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U4651 Falconer Avenue, Old Newton from no. 48 to opposite no. 13 Silver Street and the U4612 Silver Street, Old Newton from no. 27 to opposite no. 48 Falconer Avenue to facilitate the erection of telegraph poles. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Silver Street, Honeypot Lane, the B1113, Finningham Road, Falconer Avenue, Station Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 12/06/2024 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Sunbelt Rentals. Tel: 0370 050 0792.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1125 RECKFORD ROAD AND LEISTON ROAD, U2813 FENSTREET ROAD AND U2828 RECTORY ROAD, WESTLETON AND MIDDLETON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

1. • B1125 Reckford Road, Westleton from the junction with Fenstreet Road for 630 metres north eastbound

2. U2813 Fenstreet Road, Westleton from the junction with Reckford Road for 40 metres westbound

• B1125 Reckford Road, Westleton from Leiston Road for 530 metres north eastbound

3. • U2828 Rectory Road. Middleton from the B1125 for 20 metres westbound

• B1125 Leiston Road, Middleton from the junction with Rectory Road for 760 metres north eastbound

4. • B1125 leiston Road, Middleton from the junction with Rectory Road to the junction with the B1122.

This is to facilitate cabling installation. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

1. the B1125, the B1387, the A12, the B1122 and vice versa.

2. the B1125, the B1387, the A12, the B1122 and vice versa.

3. the B1125, the B1387, the A12, the B1122 and vice versa.

4. the B1125, the B1387, the A12, the B1122 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

1.12/06/2024 - 27/06/2024 from 9.30am - 3.30pm.

2. 28/06/2024 - 02/07/2024 from 9.30am - 3.30pm.

3. 03/07/2024 - 08/07/2024 from 9.30am - 3.30pm.

4. 09/07/2024 - 12/07/2024 from 9.30am - 3.30pm.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C727 STOKE ROAD, LAYHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C727 Stoke Road, Layham from Florins to Turners Cottage to facilitate telecommunications pole replacement works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Road from 8500 to C727, Layham Road, Duke Street, the B1070, Higham Road, Lower Raydon, Road from C727 to C473, Stoke Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 21/06/2024 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Sunbelt Rentals. Tel: 0370 050 0792.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF BRIGHTWELL) (FOOTPATH 9)

(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2023

This order, which came into effect on 01/01/2024 closing Footpath 9, Brightwell from Bridleway 12, Brightwell to Footpath 10, Brightwell has been extended in force by the Minister until 01/01/2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

This closure remains required due to the interests of public safety, to facilitate Earthwork UKPN diversion, Solar Farm electric diversion and the Wind Farm electric diversion which are ongoing due to delays on site. Without the extension, the order would have been effective until 30/06/2024.

TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN ON PART OF THE A140 IPSWICH ROAD AND NORWICH ROAD, YAXLEY, EYE AND THRANDESTON

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order for a temporary 40mph speed restriction on the:

• A140 Ipswich Road, Yaxley from the roundabout with Eye Road and Castleton Way for 783 metres northbound

• A140 Ipswich Road, Eye from 783 metres north of the roundabout with Eye Road and Castleton Way for 920 metres northbound

• A140 Norwich Road, Thrandeston from the roundabout with the B1077 Norwich Road for 266 metres southbound.

This is to facilitate safety during use of construction access for HGVs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

For the duration of these measures there will also be a temporary prohibition of right turn on the A140 Ipswich Road, Eye at the site access ana egress 1000 metres south of the B1077/A140 roundabout.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 21/06/2024 - 31/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
