What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(DISTRICT OF IPSWICH) (VARIOUS ROADS)
(20 MPH ZONE AND 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 202-
Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order for the District of Ipswich under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which would be to Introduce:
• A 30mph speed limit to:
• Old Norwich Road, Ipswich (U4478) from a point approximately 200 metres north of the junction of Whitton Church Lane, opposite property no. 817, north for a distance of 273 metres, opposite property named 'The Old Filling Station'
• Emerald Avenue, Ipswich from a point at injunction with Old Norwich Road, west for a distance of 22 metres.
• A 20mph zone covering Emerald Avenue and the New Ridley's Orchard Development from a point 22 metres from its junction with Old Norwich Road, and covering the entire length of the following roads:
• Amber Close
• Amethyst Close
• Citrine Close
• Garnet Close
• Jade Drive
• Jasper Close
• Quartz Road
• Ruby Way
• Topaz Close.
Copies of the draft order, map showing the roads affected and the council's reasons for the proposals, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich IP1 3DE, 9am - 6pm Monday; 9am - 7pm Tuesday; 9am- 6pm Wednesday and Thursday; 9am - 7pm Friday; 8.30am - 5pm Saturday; and 10am -4pm Sunday.
