Notice Confirmation of Public Path Diversion Order

Parish of Craster (Public Footpath No 5) Diversion Order 2023

The above Order was made on 22nd September 2023, and was Confirmed on 31st May 2024 under section 119 of the Highways Act, 1980. The effect of the Order will be as follows:-
Public Footpath No 5 (Parish of Craster)
To extinguish the footpath, from a point 195 metres north of Dunstan Hill farmhouse (OS grid ref: NU 2337 2074), in a southerly direction for a distance of 10 metres, then in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 90 metres to a point on Byway Open to All Traffic No 26, 155 metres north-west of Dunstan Hill farmhouse (NU 2331 2067).
To create a 1.5 metre wide footpath, from a point 195 metres north of Dunstan Hill farmhouse (NU 2337 2074), in a general westerly direction for a distance of 115 metres to a point on Byway Open to All Traffic No 26, 205 metres north-west of Dunstan Hill farmhouse (NU 2327 2070).
These details are shown on the Order map. A copy of the Order and map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the Council Offices of Alnwick Customer Information Centre, Lindisfarne Centre, Lindisfarne Road, Alnwick, NE66 1AU and at Main Reception, County Hall, Morpeth, NE61 2EF during normal working hours. The Order comes into force on 2nd August 2024 but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 13th June 2024 make an application to the High Court.
