Various Streets, Cambridge - Temporary Suspension Of Cycle And Bus Lane Order To Facilitate Telecommunications And Associated Works
What is happening?
CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:
Histon Road (B1049), Cambridge
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CYCLE AND BUS LANE) ORDER 2024-949
Will be to temporarily suspend the bus lane as lies between Brownlow Road and Aingers Lane.
During the period this Order remains in force The City of Cambridge Area B (Consolidation) Order 1993 Schedule 23: Part 2 Mandatory with flow cycle lane is hereby suspended insofar as they affect Histon Road on both sides of the carriageway from its junction with Gilbert Road to its junction with Cambridge Road, Impington.
During this period this Notice remains in force Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Streets, Cambridge) (Bus Lanes) Order 2022 roads and parts of roads on which any vehicle other than a pedal cycle, bus, hackney carriage or private hire vehicle is prohibited at all times on all days is hereby suspended insofar as they affect Histon Road on the eastern side of the carriageway from its junction with Blackhall Road until its junction with Carisbrooke Road is hereby suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near the bus lane and it will come into operation on 17 June 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 16 December 2025 whichever is the earlier.
This Order shall be in force when the signs are in place at each end of the above section of road whilst works taking place on Histon Road (B1049), Cambridge are in progress. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 17 June and 21 June 2024.
Barton Road (A603), Cambridge
(TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2024-952
Is to impose a 40mph speed restriction along Barton Road (A603), Cambridge as lies between Gough Way and Haggis Farm Interchange.
The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed restriction along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway improvements and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 17 June 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on 16 December 2025 which ever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 17 June and 29 November 2024. The 40mph speed restriction will only be in force when convoy working is in operation.
The above orders shall not apply to any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service or a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer.
