ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that on 5th June 2024 Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, made the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The Order will come into force on 13th June 2024. The Order will make permanent the following experimental restrictions currently in place. The effect of the Order will be to make permanent:
1. a change in the hours during which vehicles can access the pedestrian zone in Luton town centre for the purposes of loading or unloading to between the hours of 10am and 6pm every day.
2. the type of vehicle that can access the pedestrian zone in Luton town centre for the purposes of loading or unloading to between the hours of 10am and 6pm every day restricted to Heavy Goods Vehicles only.
3. a one way direction of travel on the whole lengths of George Street and Manchester Street.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers contained in the above Act or any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
