John Street and Mogg Street - Prohibition of Driving

What is happening?

CITY OF BRISTOL
(JOHN STREET AND MOGG STREET, ASHLEY WARD, CITY OF BRISTOL) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) (MOGG STREET, ASHLEY WARD, CITY OF BRISTOL) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 202-

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE that it intends to make a traffic order, the effect of which would be:-

1. to prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in:-
(a) John Street; or
(b) Mogg Street, between James Street and Cleave Street – between the hours of 8.30 am and 9.15 am and the hours of 2.45 pm and 3.30 pm on Monday to Friday. The closures would operate during St. Werburgh’s Primary School term days only; and

2. to introduce south eastwards one way traffic in Mogg Street from James Street to Cleave Street. Exemption to the prohibition of driving provisions would be provided for pedal cycles, blue badge holders, for specified/statutory purposes and for permit holders. Permits would be issued at the discretion of the Council. Exemption to the one way provision would be provided for pedal cycles.

How to object
Objections to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must be sent in writing to TRO Comments at the undermentioned address or by e-mail to tro.comments@bristol.gov.uk quoting reference CAE/RGW/P-1296 by 28th June 2024. Please include your name and address and note that all representations received may be considered in public by the City Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.

UPTON ROAD AND SOUTHVILLE AREA, PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND PARKING PLACES – TRAFFIC ORDERS

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE it proposes to make the following traffic orders:-

A. Ref No. CAE/RGW/P-1298A – the City Council of Bristol (Upton Road, Southville Ward, City of Bristol) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 202- the effect of which would be to prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in lengths of Upton Road between the hours of 8.15 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. and the hours of 2.45 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. on Monday to Friday. The closure would operate during Ashton Gate Primary School term days only.

Exemption would be provided for pedal cycles, blue badge holders, for specified/statutory purposes and for permit holders. Permits would be available to eligible Upton Road residents and their essential visitors, and where necessary access to Ashton Gate Primary School is required.

Note: the existing prohibition of driving in Upton Road would be brought forward into the new order unchanged.

B. Ref No. CAE/RGW/P-1298B – the City Council of Bristol (Southville Area, Bedminster and Southville Wards, City of Bristol) (Residents’ Parking Area) (On-Street Parking Places) (Prohibition of Waiting and Stopping) Order 202-, the effect of which would be:-

1. to revise the Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm shared use permit parking and/or (3 hours maximum stay) pay and display parking places in Upton Road to facilitate their suspension during designated School Street operating hours as a consequence of the proposals in order A above;

2. to replace disabled persons’ parking places in Allington Road, Fairfield Place, Gathorne Road, Islington Road, Merrywood Road, Mount Pleasant Terrace, Pembroke Road with 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday permit parking;

3. to replace the disabled persons’ parking place in North Street, north side, with Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm shared use permit parking and/or (3 hours maximum stay) pay and display parking; and

4. to address anomalies between the provisions of the traffic order and on-site road markings/signs relating to the following provisions, which would be formally brought into the new order:-

(a) Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm shared use permit parking and/or (3 hours maximum stay) pay and display parking and disabled persons’ parking places in Frayne Road, North Street and Upton Road;

(b) 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday permit parking and disabled persons’ parking places in Birch Road, Clift House Road, Coronation Road, Exeter Road, Hamilton Road, Leighton Road and Vicarage Road;

(c) 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday permit parking in Greville Street; and

(d) prohibition of waiting for vehicles in Back Road.

(CEMETERY ROAD, WINDMILL HILL AND KNOWLE WARDS, CITY OF BRISTOL) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 202-

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE that it proposes to make a traffic order, the effect of which would be to prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in Cemetery Road between the hours of 8.15 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. and the hours of 3.00 p.m. and 3.45 p.m. on Monday to Friday. The closure would operate during Hillcrest Primary School term days only.

Exemption would be provided for pedal cycles, blue badge holders, for specified/statutory purposes and for permit holders. Permits would be issued at the discretion of the Council.

Note: the existing eastbound one way traffic in Cemetery Road would be brought forward into the new order unchanged.
