Main Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic & Temporary Introduction Of A Clearway

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Main Road, Rettendon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Main Road, Rettendon in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with South Hanningfield Road to its junction with Rettendon Turnpike a distance of approximately 3150m. 
2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only. 
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/clearway is scheduled to commence on 1st July 2024 for 4 nights (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2357088 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway is required for the safety of the public and workforce while signage installation and vegetation clearance works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Rettendon Turnpike, Runwell Road, Church End Lane, Brock Hill, Hawkswood Road, South Hanningfield Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 13th June 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bradford Street & Haig Court, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Bradford Street, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Upper Bridge Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction. 
2. To temporarily close that length of Haig Court, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Bradford Street for a distance of approximately 10m in a south westerly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 17th June 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFGK8D5V/ BC008WFGK8D5VKC1 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while poling works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Bradford Street, Lower Anchor Street, Upper Bridge Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 30th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Duffield Road, Great Baddow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Duffield Road, Great Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Dorset Avenue for a distance of approximately 60m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th June 2024 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001322233 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Beehive Lane, Dorset Avenue and vice versa (with access only into Dufffield Road).
The Order came into effect on 30th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hammond Road, Hatfield Broad Oak) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hammond Road, Hatfield Broad Oak in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Taverners Green for a distance of approximately 85m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th June 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30064455645 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while electric works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Hammond Road, Broad Street, High Street, Feathers Hill, Old Street Hill, Dunmow Road, Chelmsford Road, Needham Green Road and vice versa (with access only into Hammond Road, Needham Green Road).
The Order came into effect on 30th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Patching Hall Lane, Broomfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Patching Hall Lane, Broomfield in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Hollow Lane for a distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th June 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30018028100 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while connection project – electricity works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Patching Hall Lane, Broomfield Road, Main Road, School Lane and vice versa (with access only into Patching Hall Lane).
The Order came into effect on 30th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Springfield Road & Trinity Street, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Springfield Road, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Meadowside for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Trinity Street, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Springfield Road for a distance of approximately 15m in a south easterly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 17th June 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001323623/ AZ5011001321906 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

Alternative routes are available via:
1. Eastern Approach, Chelmer Road, Parkway (with access only into High Bridge Road, Springfield Road).
2. Parkway, Chelmer Road, Northbound Slip from Chelmer Road to Springfield Road (with access only into High Bridge Road, Springfield Road).
3. Byron Road, Navigation Road (with access only into Springfield Road, Springfield Park Road).
The Order came into effect on 30th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(St Johns Green, St Johns Road & Bruce Road, Writtle) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of St Johns Green, Writtle in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Lawford Lane to its junction with St Johns Road a distance of approximately 40m. 
2. To temporarily close that length of St Johns Road, Writtle in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with St Johns Green to its junction with Bruce Road a distance of approximately 120m.
3. To temporarily close that length of Bruce Road, Writtle in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with St Johns Road to its end a distance of approximately 125m.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 21st June 2024 for 6 days (works to be completed in phases), or where stated on a valid permit (N7103DIS153721– 8/9/10 – Nexfibre). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/ or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct installation works are undertaken by Nexfibre.
An alternative route is available via St Johns Green, Bridge Street, The Green, St Johns Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 30th May 2024 and may continue force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
