What is happening?

Temporary Closure of South Street, Taunton

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along South Street - from outside number 4 South Street to outside Ivy Cottage. A total distance of 54 metres. This Order will enable Wessex Water to carry out service disconnection.

The Order becomes effective on 20th June 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 26th June 2024 and last until 28th June 2024 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 3 days.

There is no alternative route for this closure. The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements.
