NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2024
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Goss Lane and surrounding roads, Nailsea, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Date coming into force: 1 July 2024 - Ref: T24-31
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This order is required because of carriageway resurfacing works and will become operative on 1 July 2024, anticipated to be of 5 days in duration between 8am and 5pm. The maximum period for the closures is 18 months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.
Schedule - programme schedule for carriageway resurfacing works as follows: Goss Lane full extents, Goss View full extents, Goss Close full extents, Goss Barton full extents, May Tree Close full extents.
Alternative routes - Goss Lane - Union Street, Queens Road, Whitesfield Road and vice-versa. Goss View no alternative route, Goss Close no alternative route, Goss Barton no alternative route, May Tree Close no alternative route.
Chapel Close, Nailsea, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Date coming into force: 4 July 2024 - Ref: T24-32
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This order is required because of carriageway resurfacing works and will become operative on 4 July 2024, anticipated to be of 2 days in duration between 8am and 5pm. The maximum period for the closures is 18 months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Rhodyate Hill, Cleeve, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Date coming into force: 11 July 2024 - Ref: T24-26
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This order is required because of surface dressing works and will become operative on 11 July 2024, anticipated to be of 1 day in duration between 9am and 4.30pm. The road will also be closed to install the road markings which will become operative on 12 July 2024 anticipated to be of 1 night in duration between 8pm and 6am. The maximum period for the closures is 18 months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.
Schedule - Rhodyate Hill from its junction with Woodhill Road to 530m in easterly direction, outside The Maple. Alternative routes - A370 Rhodyate Hill - A370 Main Road (part unaffected), West Town Road, Farleigh Road, A370 Main Road, Long Ashton Bypass, Colliters Way, Bridgwater Road, Potters Hill, Bristol Road, Red Hill, Station Road, Langford Bypass, Stock Lane, Brinsea Road, High Street, Bristol Road and vice-versa.
Wrington Road and West Hay Road, Wrington, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Date coming into force: 11 July 2024 - Ref: T24-26
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This order is required because of surface dressing works and will become operative on 11 July 2024, anticipated to be of 1 day in duration between 9am and 4.30pm. The road will also be closed to install the road markings which will become operative on 12 July 2024 anticipated to be of 1 night in duration between 8pm and 6am. The maximum period for the closures is 18 months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Date coming into force: 12 July 2024 - Ref: T24-28
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This order is required because of surface dressing works and will become operative on 12 July 2024, anticipated to be of 1 day in duration between 9am and 4.30pm. The road will also be closed to install the road markings which will become operative on 13 July 2024 anticipated to be of 1 night in duration between 8pm and 6am. The maximum period for the closures is 18 months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Gatcombe Lane, Flax Bourton, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 24 July 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-068
Will be to close in phases, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water to undertake sewer lining works. This will become operative on the 24 July 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works in two phases which is anticipated to be of 8 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when each phased closure measures are in force.
Schedule - Gatcombe Lane Phase 1 commencing 24 July 2024 outside Bow Cottage and Phase 2 commencing 29 July 2024 outside Gatcombe Court for 60m to outside Farm Shop.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 17 July 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-091
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to replace three stop taps. This will become operative on the 17 July 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to replace fire hydrant. This will become operative on the 22 July 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 5 days in duration. Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 24 June 2024 - Ref: T24-32
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the schedule to this notice.
This order is required because of highway improvement works and will become operative on 24 June 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works. It is anticipated the closure will be for a period of approximately 2 days.
Schedule - Chelvey Lane, Backwell from its junction with Brockley Lane to the farm entrance next to the Chelvey Estate cottages.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, have made an order the effect of which:
Nortons Wood Lane, Clevedon, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 17 June 2024 - Ref: SW24.25-075
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid for tree trimming. This will become operative on the 17 June 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration between 8am and 5pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by All Traffic Order 2024
Date coming into force: 17 June 2024 - Ref: Long Ashton Bypass
Will be to close, temporarily, to all traffic the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by North Somerset Council to allow the removal of diseased ash trees. This will become operative on the 17 June 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 19 days in duration Monday to Friday only between 8pm and 5am. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Schedule - Long Ashton Bypass- the length of Long Ashton Bypass between the junction with the B3130 Clevedon Road and Gurney Roundabout.

Notice of Making of an Order
Highways Act 1980
Part of footpath LA 22/34, over land at Norton's Retreat,
Nortons Wood Lane, Clevedon
Public Path Diversion Order No.5 2024
The above Order, made on 16 May 2024, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert that part of Public Footpath LA 22/34 in the Parish of Clevedon within the District of North Somerset as described below: from that part of footpath LA 22/34, from point A (grid reference ST 4245672259) at Norton's Wood Lane, running in a northerly direction for approximately 76m to point B (grid reference ST 4244872328), then in an easterly direction for approximately 73m to point C (grid reference ST4251772345) then in an easterly direction for approximately 45m to point D (grid reference ST 4255972352) as shown by a bold continuous line on the attached Map No. PPO 189. To a footpath running from a pedestrian gate at point E (grid reference ST 4258472235) running in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 121m to point D (grid reference ST 4255972352) as shown by a bold broken line on the attached Map No. PPO 189. The proposed path will have a natural surface and a width of 2m. References to lettered points in this Notice are references to the points marked on the Order Map No. PPO 189.

The above Orders, were made on 23 May 2024, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, and will divert the above Public Footpaths in the Parish of Nailsea within the District of North Somerset as described below:
Public Path Diversion Order No.10 2024. From a section of footpath A13/5/10 commencing at point G (grid reference ST4565469657), across open field connecting to the northern edge of development boundary 17/P/1250/F point I (grid reference ST4569269764), then running east across playing fields, through points J (grid reference ST4572669776), K (grid reference ST4574569785), L (grid reference ST4576269793), M (grid reference ST4583269817), N (grid reference ST4581869848) and connecting to Engine Lane through kissing gate point O (grid reference ST4584869870). Also, section of LA13/6/20 running south from point I (grid reference ST4569269764) junction with LA13/5/10 down to ditch line point D (grid reference). Shown on Map PPO 199/2 as solid black lines G-O a total distance of 335m and I-D distance a total distance of 100m. To footpath LA13/5/10 will commence from Point G (grid reference ST4565469657) to follow existing hedge and ditch line to point D (grid reference ST4571569671) through landscaped development to point E (grid reference ST4582569632) and connecting to Engine Lane at new vehicular junction F (grid reference ST4592869652). Surface to be mixture of mown grass path, hoggin path and tarmac pavement minimum 2m in width. Shown on Map PPO 199/2 as black dashed lines G - F a total distance of 236m.
Public Path Diversion Order No.11 2024. From a section of physically undefined footpath (LA13/6/20) running northeast from point A (grid reference ST4569069459) across open field to point C (grid reference 4573869524) connecting to LA13/6/20 running north. Shown on Map PPO 199/1 as a solid black line between points A-C, a total distance of 80m. To commencing at Point A (grid reference ST4569069459) to follow stone wall and hedgerow along boundary of development site through point B (grid reference ST4575269478) to connect to existing LA13/6/20 at point C (grid reference ST4573869524). New route to be within 8m maintained ecological buffer. The proposed route will have a width of 2m and will have mown grass surface. Shown on Map PPO 199/1 as a black dashed line between points A-C a total distance of 156m.
