What is happening?

PUBLIC NOTICE THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL 

(DUDDING ROAD/HALL GREEN STREET/HALL PARK STREET/WERGS HALL ROAD/HICKMAN AVENUE/SUTHERLAND AVENUE/AMOS LANE) 

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following stretches of road:

* Dudding Road closed its entire length in both directions. Ward Road/Dudley Walk junction closed at its junction with Dudding Road. It is anticipated that the closure will be in place between the hours of 09:30-15:00 weekdays only from 10 June 2024 until 21 June 2024. Vehicular Diversion Route: Wolverhampton Road East, Goldthorn Hill, Ednam Road and vice versa.

* Hall Green Street closed its entire length in both directions.  It is anticipated that the closure will be in place between the hours of 09:30-15:00 weekdays only from 12 June 2024 until 26 June 2024. Vehicular Diversion Route: Hill Street, Lord Street West, Ash Street and vice versa. 

* Hall Park Street closed its entire length in both directions. Ward Street/George Street junction closed at its junction with Hall Park Street.  It is anticipated that the above closure will operate between the hours of 09:30-15:00 weekdays only from 14 June 2024 until 21 June 2024. Vehicular Diversion Route: Wellington Road, Bilston Road, Ettingshall Road and vice versa.

* Wergs Hall Road closed in both directions from its junction with Wergs Road to outside property 18/city boundary. It is anticipated that the above closure will operate between the hours of 09:30-15:00 weekdays only from 27 June 2024 to 9 July 2024. Vehicular Diversion Route: Wergs Road, Holyhead Road, Heath House Lane and vice versa.

* Hickman Avenue closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the closure will operate between the hours of 19:00-05:00 weekdays only from 15 July 2024 until 16 August 2024. Vehicular Diversion Route: Willenhall Road, Stowheath Lane, Culwick Street and vice versa. 

* Sutherland Avenue closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the closure will operate between the hours of 19:00-05:00 weekdays only from 9 August 2024 to 21 August 2024.Vehicular Diversion Route (Eastbound): Bilston Road, Culwick Street and Hickman Avenue. Vehicular Diversion Route (Westbound): Bilston Road, Ring Road, Middle Cross, Horseley Fields, Willenhall Road and Hickman Avenue.

*Amos Lane closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the closure will operate between the hours of 09:30-15:00 weekdays only from 20 August 2024 until 2 September 2024, and between the hours of 09:30-14:30 from 3 September 2024 to 6 September 2024. 

The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken as detailed above. 

The Order is required to facilitate carriageway reconstruction by City of Wolverhampton Council.
