Canterbury, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

CANTERBURY AREA

A28 Mill Road, Sturry, CT2 0BD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Mill Road, Sturry, on or after 6th July 2024, for up to 2 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the signal box, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A291 Sturry Hill, Herne Bay Road, Calcott Hill, Canterbury Road, Herne Street, Canterbury Road, Westbound Off Slip onto Wraik Hill from A299, A299 Thanet Way, A290 Clapham Hill, Pean Hill, Honey Hill, Blean Common, Blean Hill, Whitstable Road, St Thomas Hill, Whitstable Road, London Road, A2050 Rheims Way, A28 Wincheap Green, Pin Hill, Rhodaus Town, Upper Bridge Street, Lower Bridge Street, Broad Street, Military Road, Tourtel Road, Sturry Road, A28 Mill Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Butchery Lane, Canterbury, CT1 2JS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Butchery Lane, Canterbury, on or after 20th June 2024, for up to 9 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 14, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Lane, Kingston, CT4 6JA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Kingston, on or after 17th June 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Birch Lodge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Church Lane, The Street, Bonny Bush Hill, Black Robin Lane, Covet Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Cranleigh Gardens, Whitstable, CT5 1QG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cranleigh Gardens, Whitstable, on or after 1st July 2024, with estimated completion by 12th July 2024, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 18, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Garlinge Green Road, Garlinge Green, CT4 5RP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Garlinge Green Road, Garlinge Green, on or after 18th June 2024, for up to 4 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Pett Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Garlinge Green Road, Kenfield Road, Chartham Downs Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Greenhill Road, Herne Bay, CT6 7QZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Greenhill Road, Herne Bay, on or after 4th July 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Hawks Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Hawks Road, Cornwall Road, Blackburn Road, Greenhill Road and vice versa.

 

Margate Road, Herne, CT6 7EY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Margate Road, Herne, on or after 2nd July 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the telecoms mast, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

These works will be in conjunction with a lane closure on the A299 Thanet Way for safety reasons.

The alternative route is via Margate Road, A299 Thanet Way, Mill Lane, Hunters Forstal Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Rattington Street & Bakers Lane, Chartham.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Rattington Street & Bakers Lane, Chartham, on or after 1st July 2024, for up to 23 days, or until the works have been completed.

Rattington Street will be closed from the junction with Bakers Lane to Stour Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Bakers Lane will be closed from the junction with Rattington Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic for Rattington Street is via Rattington Street, Station Road, A28 Ashford Road, Shalmsford Street, The Crescent, Cockering Road and vice versa.

The alternative route for any through traffic for Bakers Lane:-

For residential access please use Shalmsford Street:-

Diversion 1 is via Rattington Street, Cockering Road, The Crescent, Shalmsford Street and vice versa.

Diversion 2 is via Rattington Street, Station Road, A28 Ashford Road, Shalmsford Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Stodmarsh Road, Canterbury, CT3 4AH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stodmarsh Road, Canterbury, on or after 18th June 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘Taranki’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic under 6’ 6” wide is via Stodmarsh Road, A257 Littlebourne Road, St Martin’s Hill, Longport, Lower Chantry Lane, St George’s Place, A28 Lower Bridge Street, Broad Street, Military Road, Tourtel Road, Sturry Road, Mill Road, Water Lane, Fordwich Road, King Street, High Street, Moat Lane and vice versa.

Due to the width restriction on Fordwich Road, the alternative route for through traffic wider than 6’6” is via A257 Littlebourne Road, Canterbury Road, The Hill, Jubilee Road, Court Hill, Eldridge Hill, Stodmarsh Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Thruxted Lane, Chartham, CT4 7RT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow new electrical connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Thruxted Lane, Chartham, on or after 19th June 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Bobbin Lodge Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Thruxted Lane, Mystole Lane, Chartham Downs Road, Shalmsford Street, Bobbin Lodge Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Tonford Lane, Thanington Without, CT1 3XT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024

To allow service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tonford Lane, Thanington Without, on or after 3rd July 2024, with estimated completion by 5th July 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 22.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Grays Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
