What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

 - SECTION 14(1)(b) THE M5 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 2) 

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) has made an Order on the M5 Motorway, at Junction 2 in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, due to the likelihood of danger caused by structural damage to the overbridge. 

The effect of the Order will be to continue to impose a speed limit of 50 miles per hour on the northbound carriageway of the M5 from its junction with the exit slip at Junction 2, to its junction with the entry slip at Junction 2. 

The speed restriction will be in operation 24 hours a day, until works to repair the damage have been carried out. 

The Order will come into force at 16:00 hours on Wednesday 12 June 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum duration of 18 months. Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance and special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction.
