A196 NEWBIGGIN ROAD ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the A196 Newbiggin Road Ashington for a length of 20 metres, 10 metres either side of the level crossing in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 10th June 2024 until the 30th June 2024.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from 21:00 hours on the 10th June 2024 until 06:30 hours on the 11th June 2024 however, the order will remain in place until 30th June 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B1334, A189, A1147, A196 and vice versa.

The closure has been requested by Core Highways on behalf of Balfour Beatty for tamping and level crossing maintenance works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
