What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 16A

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council (“the Council”), in exercise of its powers as the local traffic authority under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and all other enabling powers, has made on the 30th May 2024 the Northumberland County Council (Blyth Live Event 2024) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2024 (“the TTRO”).
The Council has made the TTRO for the purposes of facilitating the holding of Blyth Live Event 2024 (“the Event”) by prohibiting traffic on the U9525 Links Road from it’s junction with the A193 heading eastwards for a distance of 95 metres (“Road One”) and by restricting the speed of traffic to 30mph on the A193 Links Road, the southbound and northbound carriageway from it’s junction with the A193 Links Road roundabout for a length of 860 metres in Blyth (“Road Two”).
The TTRO shall come into force at 8:00 hours on 15th June 2024 and will remain in force until 23:00 hours on 15th June 2024, subject to the provisions of section 16B of the Act.
There will be no alternative route available for the duration of the TTRO
All restrictions on Road One and Road Two will be sign-posted and staffed and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary.
Nothing in the TTRO shall apply to:
a. Any activities taking place on Road One related to the organisation and holding of the Event;
b. Anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police officer or a Duly Authorised Officer of the Council.
c. Any vehicle being used by, or for the purposes of, the emergency services;
d. Any vehicle being used by or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker (e.g. the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which requires vehicles to be brought onto Road One); or
e. Pedestrian access to any premises adjoining Road One.
