What is happening?
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (SUTTON ROAD AND MOVERS LANE, BARKING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE OF INTENT
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate gas mains replacement works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 22 July 2024. The works expected for:
* Gas mains replacement works to take 27 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Saturday 17 August 2024. The work leading to the closures is expected to be undertaken between the days and times as specified in Article 3 below.
However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.
3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -
Monday 22 July 2024 - Saturday 17 August 2024 at all times
* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Sutton Road, both sides, from its junction with Movers Lane for a distance of 23 metres in an easterly direction.
* Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Resident Access) on Movers Lane fronting Nos. 147-161, both sides, from its junction with Sutton Road to a point 1 metre north of the common boundary of Nos. 147/149 and 151/153 Movers Lane.
* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Movers Lane fronting Nos. 147-161 (Except for access), both sides, from a point 1 metre north of the common boundary of Nos. 147/149 and 151/153 Movers Lane to its junction with Alfred's Gardens.
* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Alfred's Gardens (Except for access), both sides, from its junction with Movers Lane fronting Nos. 147-161 to its junction with Saxham Road.
* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Felton Road (Except for access), both sides, from its junction with Saxham Road to its junction with Sutton Road.
* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Sutton Road (Except for access), both sides, from a point 23 metres east of its junction with Movers Lane to its junction with Sparsholt Road.
* Introduce a banned right turn from Movers Lane into Sutton Road.
* Suspend in part the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone L Mon-Sat 8.30am-9pm bays at the following locations:
* Movers Lane fronting Nos. 147-161, north-east side, outside Nos.
147/149 and 151/153 Movers Lane, o Sutton Road, south side, from a point 3.5 metres east of the common
boundary of No.2 Sutton Road for 9 metres in a westerly direction. Wednesday 24 July 2024 - Saturday 17 August 2024 at all times
* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Movers Lane, southbound carriageway, from its junction with St John's Road to its junction with Alfred's Way (A13).
* Introduce a one-way in Movers Lane northbound carriageway (in a northerly direction), from its junction with Alfred's Way (A13) to its junction with St John's Road.
* Introduce banned left turn from St John's Road into Movers Lane.
* Suspend the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone L Mon-Sat 8.30am-9pm bays at the following locations:
* Movers Lane, west side, from a point opposite the southern building
line of No.145 Movers Lane for 54 metres in a southerly direction, o Movers Lane, west side, from a point 1.5 metres south of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos.127 and 129 for 17 metres in a southerly direction, o Movers Lane, east side, outside Nos.133-141 Movers Lane, o Movers Lane, east side, from a point 11.5 metres north of its junction with Sutton Road for a distance of 15 metres in a northerly direction.
* Suspend the Bus Stops at the following locations:
* Movers Lane, east side, outside Nos. 109-121 Movers Lane, o Movers Lane, west side, opposite Nos. 133-145 Movers Lane.
4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
* Via Movers Lane, Ripple Road westbound carriageway (A123), St Pauls Road, Ripple Road eastbound carriageway (A123) and Alfreds Way (A13).
* Via Movers Lane, St John's Road and Sparsholt Road.
* Via Saxham Road, Felton Road, Sutton Road, Sparsholt Road and St John's Road.
