What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HOWARDS DRIVE, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD AND  LITTLE TRING ROAD, TRING) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):-

1.  that length of Howards Drive, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Galley Hill north westwards for a distance of approximately 390m.

An alternative route will be via Galley Hill, Fennycroft Road and Howards Drive.

2.  that length of Little Tring Road, Tring from its junction with Wiggles Lane north westwards to its junction with B489 Lower Icknield Way, a distance of approximately 410m.

An alternative route will be via Wiggles Lane, Tringford Road and B489 Lower Icknield Way.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 24 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PIX FARM LANE, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)  of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Pix Farm Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Pouchen End Lane north westwards to its junction with Westbrook Drive, a distance of approximately 345m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Winkwell, A4251 London Road, Sharpes Lane and Pix Farm Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 June 2024 for a period of up to

18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VICARAGE LANE, BOVINGDON) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)  of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Vicarage Lane, Bovingdon from a point in line with the north western boundary of No.32 Vicarage Close north westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Vicarage Lane, B4505 Hempstead Road, High Street, Church Lane and Vicarage Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 June 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON A414 ST ALBANS ROAD,  HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1)  of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of road (“the lengths of

Road”) will be:-

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following length of road and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of road, whilst works are in progress:-

a) that length of A414 St Albans Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with the Jarman Way roundabout north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Wood Crescent, a distance  of approximately 814m.

An alternative route will be via A414 St Albans Road, A4147 (Maylands Avenue/ Swallowdale Lane/ Redbourn Road/Link Road), A4146 Leighton Buzzard Road and A414 St Albans Road.

2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of

A414 St Albans Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with the White Hart Road/Bennetts End Lane roundabout north westwards and south westwards to its junction with the Jarman Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 266m, when signs are in place.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the lengths of Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 10 June 2024 for a period of up to

18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the lengths of Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF POTTEN END HILL, GREAT GADDESDEN) ORDER NO.2 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has been made and Order under Section 14(1)  of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Potten End Hill, Great Gaddesden from its junction with Water End Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 955m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Water End Road, The Common, Hempstead Lane, Berkhamsted Road, Boxted Road, Galley Hill, B440 Leighton Buzzard Road and Potten End Hill.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 10 June 2024 for a period of up to

18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (MORTIMER HILL, TRING) 

(PROHIBITION OF STOPPING AND WAITING ON SCHOOL KEEP CLEAR MARKINGS) ORDER 2024

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce a new 20 mph zone, a new 40 mph speed limit and a prohibition  of stopping and waiting on the school keep clear markings in parts of Tring as specified in the Schedules to this Notice.  The Orders will come into effect on Monday 5 August 2024.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained in them, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for this purpose.

SCHEDULE 3: Prohibition of stopping and waiting 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday on the school keep clear markings – that section of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan – Mortimer Hill, outside Tring School.
