What is happening?

Parish of Somerton Temporary Closure of Etsome Hill, Barpool Lane and Lugshorn Lane

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Etsome Hill - from the junction with Barpool Lane, southwards for a distance of 1020 metres; Barpool Lane - from the junction with Etsome Hill, eastwards for a distance of 200 metres; and Lugshorn Lane- from the junction with Barpool Lane, northwards fo a distance of 80 metres. A total distance of 1300 metres.
This Order will enable Wessex Internet to install fibre cable.
The Order becomes effective on 6th June 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 10th June 2024 and last until 14th June 2024 between the hours of 00:00-23:59 for a total of 5 days.
