ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1)

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY

(JAMES STREET, BURY)

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles and pedestrians from proceeding along:-

James Street, Bury - carriageway and easterly side footway, from the southerly kerb line of Wilson Street for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction.

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate sewer works.

The alternative route will be via Oxford Street and Alfred Street and vice-versa.

The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 10 June 2024 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is 3 months. Dated 30 May 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-

Silver Street, Bury - from its junction with Broad Street to and including its junction with Back Broad Street.

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate electricity cabling and connection works.

The alternative route will be via Broad Street, Haymarket Street, Angouleme Way, Rochdale Road, Derby Way, Peel Way & Bolton Street.

The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 10 June 2024 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 3 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is 5 days.
