Abernethyn Road, Newmains - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?
NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL
ABERNETHYN ROAD, NEWMAINS (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
On 27 May 2024 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on installation of Scottish Water Drainage Infrastructure) on Abernethyn Road, Newmains from its junction with Kilmichael Avenue eastwards for a distance of 200m or thereby, by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
Alternative routes: Vehicles on the west side of the closure on Abernethyn Road wishing access to Muirhouse Avenue should proceed via Abernethyn Road, Eastwood Drive, A73 Westwood Road, Bonkle Road and Muirhouse Avenue. Vehicles on Muirhouse Avenue wishing access to the west side of the closure on Abernethyn Road should proceed vice versa.
Vehicles on the west side of the closure on Abernethyn Road wishing access to the east side of the closure on Abernethyn Road should proceed via Abernethyn Road, Eastwood Drive, A73 Westwood Road, Bonkle Road, Alcath Road, Firtree Road and Abernethyn Road to the east side of the closure. Vehicles on the east side of the closure on Abernethyn Road wishing access to the west side of the closure on Abernethyn Road should proceed vice versa.
Vehicles on Muirhouse Avenue wishing access to the east side of the closure on Abernethyn Road should proceed via Muirhouse Avenue, Bonkle Road, Alcath Road, Firtree Road and Abernethyn Road to the east side of the closure. Vehicles on the east side of the closure on Abernethyn Road wishing access to Muirhouse Avenue should proceed vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be permitted at all times.
The Order, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Monday, 10th June 2024 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Sunday, 11th August 2024.
