Swale, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SWALE AREA

Albany Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 1EH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Albany Road, Sittingbourne, on or after 10th June 2024, for up to 12 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 98, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Belmont Road, Park Road, Valenciennes Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Burley Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 1JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow manhole works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Burley Road, Sittingbourne, on or after 25th June 2024, with estimated completion by 26th June 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 42, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Epps Road, Rock Road, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bysing Wood Road, Faversham, ME13 7UD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bysing Wood Road, Faversham, on or after 24th June 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Keith Motors, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via B2045 Western Link, A2 London Road, Four Oaks Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Road, Tonge.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Tonge, on or after 13th June 2024, for up to 6 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Sittingbourne Golf Centre, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Crockham Lane, Hernhill, ME13 9JR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Crockham Lane, Hernhill, on or after 10th June 2024, with estimated completion by 12th June 2024, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Crockham Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Crockham Road, Butlers Hill, Church Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Spade Lane, Hartlip, ME9 7LZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Spade Lane, Hartlip, on or after 24th June 2024, with estimated completion by 25th June 2024, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Right Choice MOT Centre, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A2 London Road, South Bush Lane, Meresborough Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

West Street, Bluetown, Sheerness.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of West Street, Bluetown, Sheerness, on or after 10th June 2024, for up to 4 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Pier Toll House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The One-Way Order on West Street will be suspended for the duration of the works to allow for access.

The alternative route is via A249 From J B2007 To
J A250, Chapel Street, High Street, West Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Various Footpath & Footways, Swale - Preservation Treatments.​ (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024

To allow patching and preservation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting pedestrians on various footpaths and footways in Swale.

This Order takes effect on or after 24th June 2024, for a period of up to 18 months or until works have been completed. It may be necessary for some of the roads to be closed for multiple occasions for each phase of the works. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works on One.Network and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.

These works are subject to weather and other factors which may potentially cause changes at short notice, every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the planned dates that are notified, and any changes will be publicised.

SCHEDULE

Burley Road, Sittingbourne

The footpath to the rear of Burley Road will be closed from the junction with London Road to the rear of number 4, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for pedestrians is via Burley Road, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Solomons Lane, Faversham

The footway in Solomons Lane will be closed from Preston Street to Newton Road and from Newton Road to St Mary’s Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for pedestrians is via B2041 Newton Road, B2041 Station Road, Preston Street and vice versa.

Westgate Road, Faversham

The footway in Westgate Road will be closed from the junction with Whitstable Road to Gordon Square, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for pedestrians is via Minster Road, Cyprus Road, B2040 Whitstable Road and vice versa.
