Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE AREA

Beckett Road, Brookland, TN29 9TF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Beckett Road, Brookland, on or after 11th June 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with A259 Rye Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A259 Rye Road, A259 Brookland Bypass, A259 Straight Lane, B2080 Rhee Wall, B2080 Rhee Wall Road, B2080 Station Road, Beckett Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Thorn Lane, Stelling Minnis, CT4 6BZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thorn Lane, Stelling Minnis, on or after 25th June 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of B2068 Stone Street and North Leigh, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2068 Stone Street, Town Road, The Street, Broadway, Waltham Road, Kake Street, Richdore Road, Woods Hill, Ashenfield Road, Waltham Road, The Street, Evington Road From Junction With The Street To Boundary Line, From Dean Bottom To District Boundary, Dean Bottom, Dean Hill, Thorn Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE (TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

For the safety of the public whilst the Folkestone Armed Forces & Community Fun Day event is being held, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to restrict traffic on various roads, Folkestone, as defined below.

Restriction: Road Closure from 20:00 hours on 29th June 2024 until 21:00 hours on 30th June 2024.

Road Name: The Leas.
Extent: Between the junctions of Clifton Road and Clifton Gardens.

Restriction: Road Closure from 06:00 hours on 30th June 2024 until 21:00 hours on 30th June 2024.

Road Name: The Leas.
Extent: Between the junctions of Clifton Road and West Terrace.

Road Name: West Terrace.
Extent: Between the junctions of Sandgate Road and The Leas.

Road Name: Longford Terrace.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Longford Way.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Pleydell Gardens.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Shakespeare Terrace.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Langhorne Gardens.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Clifton Gardens.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Clifton Road.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Clifton Crescent.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Trinity Crescent.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Earls Avenue.
Extent: Between the junctions of Sandgate Road and The Leas.

Road Name: Metropole Road East.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Metropole Road West.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Cheriton Place.
Extent: Between the junctions of Sandgate Road and The Leas.

Road Name: The Leas.
Extent: Between the junctions of Earls Avenue and Metropole Road West.

Restriction: Road Closure from 09:00 hours on 30th June 2024 until 21:00 hours on 30th June 2024.

Road Name: Radnor Street.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Beach Street.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: The Stade.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Fish Market.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Back Street.
Extent: The entire length.

Diversion: The alternative route for any Westbound traffic is via West Terrace, Bouverie Place, Bouverie Square, A2033 Middelburg Square, A2033 Bouverie Road, A2033 Castle Hill Avenue and Sandgate Road.

Restriction: No Waiting/Parking from 20:00 hours on 29th June 2024 until 21:00 hours on 30th June 2024.

Road Name: Langhorne Gardens.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: The Leas.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Radnor Park West.
Extent: Between Wilton Road and A2034 Cheriton Road.

Road Name: Earls Avenue.
Extent: Between the junctions of A2033 Sandgate Road and Clifton Crescent.

Road Name: A260 The Tram Road.
Extent: The entire length.

Road Name: Coolinge Lane.
Extent: From The Folkestone School for Girls and the junction of Bathurst Road.

 

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE)

(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT 25)

Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL intend to make the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:

The Order proposes the following parking restrictions:

Footway Parking Ban

Octavian Drive; Ridgeway, Lympne; Middle Mead, Folkestone; Coombe Road, Cheriton;

No Waiting At Any Time

Undercliff, Sandgate; Moyle Tower Road, Hythe; East Cliff Passage, Folkestone; The Leas, Folkestone;

Loading Ban: Coolinge Lane, Military Road/SandgateHigh Street/Gough Road junctions, Sandgate; Harbour Approach, Folkestone;

Motorhome Overnight Parking Ban: Marine Parade, South Road, Hythe;

Motorcycle Parking Bay: Bradstone Road;

Coach Bay: relocation of existing coach bay, The Leas, Folkestone;

Loading Bay: extension of existing bay and operational hours to 10pm, Sandgate High Street, change of operational hours, Bouverie Road, Folkestone to 7am -9am;

Evening And Weekend 7.5t Parking Ban: Godwin Road, Dixwell Road, Folkestone;

Restricted Parking Zone: Coronation Parade, Folkstone;

Disabled Persons Parking Bay: Mill Bay, Folkstone; Spring Lane, Saltwood;

Police Vehicle Parking Bay: Bank Street, Hythe;

A copy of the proposed Order, a copy of any Orders which may be amended by it, and a statement of the council’s reasons for proposing it can be inspected during normal office hours at the Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, CT20 2QY or at https://www.folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/parking

We must receive any representations before 5pm on Friday 28th June 2024 for them to be considered. For legal reasons we cannot accept representations over the phone or in person.
