What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
Bedlam Lane, Smarden. TN27 8PQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bedlam Lane, Smarden, on or after 24th June 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘Tree Tops’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic:-
North to South is via Crockenhill Road, Mundy Bois Road, The Pinnock, Smarden Bell Road, Bell Lane, Headcorn Road and Bedlam Lane.
South to North is via Sherway Road, Grigg Lane, Southernden Road, Barham’s Mill Road and Crockenhill Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bethersden Road, Hothfield, TN26 1EW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bethersden Road, Hothfield, on or after 10th June 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Oast, Rippers Cross, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Bethersden Road, Bears Lane, Etchden Road, Goldwell Lane, A28 Great Chart Bypass/Chart Road/Templer Way, A20 Maidstone Road, Station Road, School Road, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bethersden Road, Woodchurch. TN26 3QP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bethersden Road, Woodchurch, on or after 26th June 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘Four Wents’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Bethersden Road, Shadoxhurst Road, Spot House Lane, Place Lane, Lower Road, Front Road, Bethersden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Canterbury Road, Molash. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow electrical connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Canterbury Road, Molash on or after 24th June 2024, with estimated completion by 27th June 2024, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.00, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on Canterbury Road, Molash will be imposed between Maple Barn and Queen Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Church Road, Warehorne. TN26 2JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow the installation of signage and road markings, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Warehorne, on or after 24th June 2024, for up to 1 day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Warehorne Road and Station Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via B2067 Kenardington Road, B2067 Warehorne Road, Appledore Road, Church Lane, Snargate Road, Hogg Lane, Arrowhead Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Green Lane, Challock, TN25 4DL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Green Lane, Challock, on or after 12th June 2024, for up to 6 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Bungalow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Green Lane, A252 Ashford Road, Green Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Goldwell Lane, Great Chart. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Goldwell Lane, Great Chart, on or after 24th June 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Vitters Oak Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Goldwell Lane, Ashford Road, The Street, Ninn Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
High Street, Tenterden, TN30 6JW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, Tenterden, from 20.00 hours on 13th June 2024, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 14th June 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Woodbury Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via A28 Rolvenden Road, A28 Rolvenden Hill, A28 Tenterden Road, A28 High Street, A28 Hastings Road, A268 Rye Road, A268 Queen Street, A268 Megrims Hill, A28 Cranbrook Road, A229 Gills Green, A229 Slip Mill Lane, A229 Hawkhurst Road, A229 Hartley Road, A229 Angley Road, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 The Street, A262 Biddenden Road, A28 Ashford Road, A28 Grange Road, A28 Silver Hill, A28 East Cross and vice versa.

Leacon Lane, Charing. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Leacon Lane, Charing, on or after 10th June 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘Byways’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via A20 Ashford Road, A20 Maidstone Road, Station Road, School Road, West Street, Little Chart Road, Swan Lane, The Street, Calehill Road, Pluckley Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Reed Crescent, Kingsnorth, TN23 3QB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Reed Crescent, Kingsnorth, on or after 10th June 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Blackthorn Way and the junction with Ruffets Wood, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Bluebell Road, Reed Crescent and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Tenterden Road, Appledore. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Tenterden Road, Appledore, on or after 10th June 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on Tenterden Road, Appledore will be imposed from the junction with The Street, to the entrance path of ‘Upton’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
