Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 29 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of New House Farm Lane (D877) Wood Street Village which extends from the northern property boundary line of “7 Hillbrow Close” to the southern property boundary line of “9 Hillbrow Close”.
Alternative Route – No diversion route available.
This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 05 June 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Anyards Road (D6884) and Copse Road (D6883) Cobham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 29 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Anyards Road (D6884) Cobham as extends from its junction with (D6883) Copse Road and (X16029) Oakfield Road to a point in line with the common boundary between No.111 and No.113 Anyards Road, and (b) the entire length of the westbound lane of Copse Road (D6883) Cobham.
Alternative Route: (1a) Left turn onto (D6883) Copse Road, (A307) Portsmouth Road, (A245) Between Streets, and (D6884) Oakdene Road; and (1b) (D6884) Oakdene Road, Between Streets, and (A307) Portsmouth Road; and (2a) The eastbound lane of (D6883) Copse Road, (A307) Portsmouth Road, (A245) Between Streets, and Oakdene Road; and (2b) (D6884) Oakdene Road, Between Streets, and (A307) Portsmouth Road.
This Order is required to facilitate mains water replacement works for, or on behalf of SES Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 19 days, between the hours of 8am and 5pm during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 10 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Water Lane (D6859) Cobham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024
On 29 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Water Lane (D6859) Cobham as extends from its junction with (X68726) The Stables to its junction with (X68301) The Laurels; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Water Lane (D6859) Cobham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) of this Notice.
Alternative Route: Water Lane, Knipp Hill, Miles Lane, Fairmile Lane, and Water Lane, or this route in reverse.
The Order is required to facilitate sewer connection works for, or on behalf of Nick Kenward Construction Ltd.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 15 days, between the hours of 7.30am and 4.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 12 June 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Tite Hill (D3131) Englefield Green
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 29 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Tite Hill (D3131) Englefield Green as extends from its junction with (D7007) Middle Hill to its junction with (D3121) Kingswood Rise.
Alternative Route: Tite Hill, (A30) Egham Hill, and Middle Hill, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate sewer cover replacement works for, or on behalf of Thames Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night, between the hours of 7pm and 11pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 June 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.
Wickham Lane (D3171) Egham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 29 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Wickham Lane (D3171) Egham.
This Order is required to facilitate new drainage system works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.
These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible between the hours of 9am and 5pm within 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 14 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure for residents while work is in place. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time, under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. There is no alternative route for this closure.
Guilford Road (A323) and Ash Hill Road (B3411) Ash
Temporary Prohibition of Waiting Order 2024
On 29 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting by vehicles, at any time, in the lengths of roads in the Schedule to this notice.
The Temporary Traffic Order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public and will commence on 3 June 2024 and continue for a period of 18 months.
The temporary waiting restrictions will only apply when the relevant traffic signs are in place. Exemptions are provided in respect of the temporary waiting restrictions, such as to permit vehicles to wait in order to pick up and set down passengers or to load and unload goods; where necessary to arry out essential services and works or when used by local authorities in pursuance of statutory powers or duties and for furniture removals and Post Office vehicles; vehicles when waiting because the driver is required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the driver’s control; and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer.
Schedule
1. that length of Guilford Road (A323) Ash, on both sides of the carriageway, which extends from its junction with the circulatory carriageway comprised within the roundabout situated at or adjacent to the junctions of Guildford Road, Ash Hill Road and Stonehill Road for a distance of 82m in a north-easterly direction;
2. that length of Guilford Road (A323) Ash, on both sides of the carriageway, which extends from its junction with the circulatory carriageway comprised within the roundabout situated at or adjacent to the junctions of Guildford Road, Ash Hill Road and Stonehill Road for a distance of 86m in a south-westerly direction;
3. that length of Ash Hill Road (B3411) Ash, on both sides of the carriageway, which extends from its junction with the circulatory carriageway comprised within the roundabout situated at or adjacent to the junctions of Guildford Road, Ash Hill Road and Stonehill Road for a distance of 77m in a northerly direction;
4. that length of Stonehill Road, Ash, on both sides of the carriageway, which extends from its roundabout junction with Guildford Road for a distance of 14m in a southerly direction.
Knipp Hill (D6855) Cobham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Knipp Hill (D6855) Cobham as extends from its junction with (D6855) Pony Chase and for a distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction along Knipp Hill; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Knipp Hill (D6855) Cobham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) of this Notice.
Alternative Route: Knipp Hill, Miles Lane, Fairmile Lane, and Water Lane, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 8 days, between the hours of 7am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 24 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Ford Road (D3042) Chertsey
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Ford Road (D3042) Chertsey.
This Order is required to facilitate new water connection works for, or on behalf of Affinity Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via a trench link, if necessary, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.
The Street (B2130) Hascombe
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of The Street (B2130) Hascombe as extends from its junction with (D170) Mare lane to its junction with the access to the property known as “Lamberts”
Alternative Route: (B2130) The Street, (B2130) Godalming Road, (B2130) Dunsfold Road, (A281) Horsham Road, (A281) Rooks Hill, (A281) Birtley Road, (A281) High Street, (A281) Horsham Road, (A248) Broadford Road, (A3100) Old Portsmouth Road, (A3100) Guildford Road, (A3100) Meadrow, (A3100) Bridge Road, (A3100) Flambard Way, (B2130) Brighton Road, (B2130) Hascombe Road, and (B2130) The Street, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate new water mains connection works for, or on behalf of Thames Water.
These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days, between the hours of 9am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 24 June 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
A308 Staines Bridge, Staines-Upon-Thames
Temporary (Suspension) Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to suspend Schedule 1 to “The Spelthorne Borough Council (Staines Bridge and Church Street, Staines)(Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles)Order 1987”, only insofar as it relates to the entire length of A308 Staines Bridge, Staines-Upon-Thames.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate major maintenance works being carried out on or near the said roads, which is anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 18 June 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary suspension of the Order will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and to the extent indicated by those signs.
D4016 The Mount, Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D4016 The Mount, Guildford which extends from its junction with A3100 Portsmouth Road to its junction with D4016 Wodeland Avenue.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out surfacing works and/or major maintenance works as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 17 June 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Alternative Route 1 – A3100 Portsmouth Road, A3100 Park Street, A31 Farnham Road, D4016 Wodeland Avenue.
Alternative Route 2 – D4016 Wodeland Avenue, A31 Farnham Road, A322 Bridge Street, A322 Onslow Street, A3100 Park Street and A3100 Portsmouth Road.
D3801 Sunbury Lane, Walton on Thames
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D3801 Sunbury Lane, Walton on Thames.
This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out carriageway patching works and/or major maintenance works as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 19 June 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. It is anticipated that the works will be carried out in sections and will be patches rather than the whole road, maintaining access for residents.
Alternative Route 1 – D3801 Weir Road, D3802 Felix Road, D3800 Franklyn Road, D3802 Russel Road and A3050 Terrace Road.
Angel Road (D6810) Thames Ditton
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Angel Road (D6810) Thames Ditton as extends from the southeastern boundary line of “No.63 Angel Road” to the northeastern boundary line of “No.65 Angel Road”.
Alternative Route – Angel Road (D6810), Thorkhill Road (D6812), Rushett Road (D6813), Ewell Road (C162) And Sugden Road (D6809) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow Network Rail to carry out bridge works, which is anticipated to be completed within 2 nights, between 10:00pm and 6:00am, during the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 22 June 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians, unmounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Public Bridleway 152 (Shere)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) & (2)
On 28 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above temporary closure order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the bridleway as it crosses the railway at Shere Heath Crossing.
The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to the railway crossing being deemed dangerous to the public. The closure is in operation from 28 May 2024 for 6 months or until completion of the works, if earlier. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements.
The alternative route for traffic on foot from the northwestern end of the closure is to proceed in a north easterly direction along Bridleway 151, turn southeast and cross the bridge across the railway, then turn right and follow Bridleway 152 in a south westerly direction to the southeastern end of the closure.
The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway 152 (Shere) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) & (2)
Public Bridleway No. 102 (Thursley)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway No. 102 (Thursley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made on the grounds of public safety due erosion of the path surface. The Order came into operation on 29 November 2023. It was due to expire on 29 May 2024 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 29 May 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
The Order as continued prohibits equestrian traffic from entering or proceeding along Public Bridleway 102 (Thursley) from its junction with public bridleway 590 (Grid Reference 490116, 139820) northwest for 280 metres. Pedestrians and cyclists may proceed with caution. Access to properties will not be affected by the Order.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no suggested alternate route.

Public Bridleway No. 105 (Thursley)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway No. 105 (Thursley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made on the grounds of public safety due to a section of the Bridleway having collapsed into the adjacent pond. The Order came into operation on 22 November 2023.
It was due to expire on 22 May 2024 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 22 May 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Public Bridleway 105 (Thursley), from its junction with Footpath 89 (Thursley) (Grid reference 490611 138307) in a generally south-easterly direction for 220 metres, to its junction with Footpath 205a (Thursley).
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no suggested alternate route.
