What is happening?

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL

(Various Roads, Various Wards – Resurfacing) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon resurfacing works. The order became operative from 3 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration at each location in respect of each road or length of road.

Schedule:

1. Knapp Road, Thornbury – from Orchard Avenue eastwards for 250m;

2. Branksome Drive, Filton – from Warren Road to Wades Road;

3. Long Beach Road, Longwell Green – from California Road to Gilroy Close;

4. Westerleigh Road, Downend – from a point 15m south west of Westbourne Road north eastwards for 110m;

5. Westbourne Road, Downend – from Beaufort Road to Valley Gardens;

6. Ellacombe Road, Longwell Green – from A431 Bath Road south westwards direction for 250m;

7. Easton Hill Road, Thornbury – from Knapp Road to Eastland Road Alternative routes (vice versa)

1. Knapp Road (part unaffected), Grovesend Road, Morton Way, Crossway Road, Knapp Road (part unaffected);

2. Wades Road (part unaffected), Hunters Way, Charles Road, Warren Road;

3. California Road, Shellards Road, A431, Long Beach Road (part unaffected);

4. Westerleigh Road (part unaffected), A4174, A432, Westerleigh Road (part unaffected);

5. Westbourne Road (part unaffected), Boscombe Crescent, Westbourne Road (part unaffected);

6. Ellacombe Road (part unaffected), Court Farm Road, A431;

7. Severn View Road, B4061, Morton Way, Crossway Road, Knapp Road
