Kirkby in Ashfield - Prohibition Of Driving For Carriageway Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(RESURFACING WORKS, KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (A24-053)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Kirkby in Ashfield in the District of Ashfield.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road: -
a. B6018 Sutton Road - from its junction with B6020 Chapel Street to its junction with A38 Kings Mill Road East.
b. B6020 Diamond Avenue - from its junction with A611 Derby Road to its junction with Clumber Street.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (Both sides, 20:00-06:00) in the following length of road: -
a. B6018 Sutton Road - from its junction with B6020 Chapel Street to its junction with A38 Kings Mill Road East.
b. B6020 Diamond Avenue - from its junction with A611 Derby Road to its junction with Clumber Street.
1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
B6018 Sutton Road - From 20:00 hours on Monday 3rd June 2024
Until 06:00 hours on Saturday 22nd June 2024
B6020 Diamond Avenue - From 20:00 hours on Monday 24th June 2024 Until 06:00 hours on Saturday 6th July 2024
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
B6018 Sutton Road - A38 Kings Mill Road East - B6139 Coxmoor Road - A611 Derby Road - B6020 Diamond Avenue - B6020 Station Street - B6020 Urban Road - B6020 Lane End - B6020 Victoria Road - B6020 The Hill - B6020 Chapel Street and vice versa.
B6020 Diamond Avenue - B6021 Kingsway - B6021 Nottingham Road - B6021 Shoulder of Mutton Hill - A611 Derby Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into force on Monday 3rd June 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out.
The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands to out carriageway resurfacing works;
