U893 Railway Road And U49154 Moor Street - Temporary Suspension Of One Way

(U893 RAILWAY ROAD AND U49154 MOOR STREET, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY) (TEMPORARY ONE WAY) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed over that length of U893 Railway Road, Ormskirk from U49154 Moor Street, Ormskirk to U894 Leyland Way, Ormskirk.
AND FURTHER, no person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed in a Westerly direction over that length of U49154 Moor Street, Ormskirk from A570 St Helens Road, North of Park Road to U893 Railway Road, Ormskirk
AND FURTHER, any motor vehicle or cycle and shall be permitted to proceed in an Easterly direction over that length of U49154 Moor Street, Ormskirk from U893 Railway Road, Ormskirk to A570 St Helens Road, North of Park Road.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 10th June 2024 until 1700 hours on Monday 31st March 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular and cycle traffic affected by the closure is via:-
U49154 Moor Street, Ormskirk – A570 St Helens Road, North of Park Road – A570 Park Road, Ormskirk – A570 Church Street, North of Park Road – A570 Derby Street West, Ormskirk – A570 Derby Street, West of Stanley Street.
The temporary prohibition is necessary as part of the works taking place on Derby Street Bridge to be carried out by Lancashire County Council.
