THE A47 TRUNK ROAD (LOWESTOFT) SUFFOLK (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A47 Trunk Road at Lowestoft in Suffolk to allow for local authority road marking works to be carried out in safety.
The works will take place over 2 nights (9pm-4am Mon to Fri) starting on or after Monday 3 June 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to close the A47 -
- southbound carriageway of Waveney Road, and Station Square between its junctions with Suffolk Road and Commercial Road, and
- northbound and southbound carriageways between their junction with Commercial Road and a point 130 metres south of that point on Pier Terrace.
Southbound traffic will be diverted to exit the A47 at St Peters Street roundabout then via the A1144 St Peters Street, A1117
Normanston Drive, B1531 Victoria Road and Waveney Drive to continue their journey; northbound traffic vice versa. The closures (which will not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. The Order will come into force on 28 May 2024 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, or whichever is the earlier.
