ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) & (2) Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Oxford, A44 Woodstock Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 20/05/2024 Coming into force: 02/06/2024 This Order continues in force a closure by emergency Notice on 13 May 2024, introduced because of the final elements of works including resurfacing, road marking, and traffic signal loop works which are anticipated to be completed 5 July 2024 working between 8pm and 5am. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the A44 Woodstock Road between Wolvercote roundabout (A40) and Pear Tree roundabout (A34), including the entrance to the park and Ride. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Woodstock Road, the A40 North Way, A4165, Kidlington roundabout A4260, A44, Woodstock Road and vice versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14013/AC)
