(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable works in relation to the Carlisle Southern Link Road to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C1014 Newbiggin Road, Carlisle from its junction with the M6 Junction 42, Golden Fleece Interchange, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 830m.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of Newbiggin Road, Durdar Road, Blackwell Road, St Nicholas Street, A6 London Road and Carleton Road and the M6 Junction 42 Interchange.

The Order will come into operation on 10 June 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 week and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
