What is happening?

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL

(Kingsholme Road, Kingswood) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Kingsholme Road which extends from New Cheltenham Road southwards for 50m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with sewer repair works. The order became operative from 3 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration. Alternative route: New Cheltenham Road, Downend Road, Gilbert Road, Kingsholme Road

(Itchington Road, Tytherington) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Itchington Road which extends from a point 180m north east of Earthcott Road northwards for 445m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works. The order became operative from 7 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 8.30am and 3.30pm. Alternative route: Itchington Road, A38, Stowell Hill Road and vice versa

(Newton Road, Cadbury Heath) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Newton Road which extends from Hampton Close north westwards for 50m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with resurfacing works. The order became operative from 3 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: Newton Road, Parkwall Road, Cadbury Heath Road, Tower Road South, Park Road, Park Crescent and vice versa

(Various Roads, Rudgeway and Mangotsfield – Surface Dressing) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended has made an order the effect of which has:- a) closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; and b) suspended, temporarily, when signs are covered, the South Gloucestershire Council (Various Roads – Kingswood, Mangotsfield and Warmley Area) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) (Uni-Directional Limit for Heavy Commercial Vehicles) Order 2001 in so far as it relates to the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this order is hereby suspended, temporarily, for the duration of this order. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon carriageway surface dressing works. The order became operative from 3 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The restrictions however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 week duration in respect of each location. (Long Road and Valley Road, Mangotsfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon sewer installation works on or adjacent to the highway. 
The order became operative from 3 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration. Schedule Long Road – from Valley Road southwards for 50m; Valley Road – from Long Road westwards for 100m. Alternative route: Rodway Road, Long Road and vice versa

(Bury Lane, Doynton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Bury Lane which extends from Horsepool Lane north eastwards for 260m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works. The order became operative from 6 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Alternative route: A420 High Street, Rock Road, Ham Lane, High Street and vice versa

(Common Road, Winterbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Common Road which extends from Salem Road south westwards for 20m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with sewer repair works. The order became operative from 3 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration. Alternative route: Common Road (parts unaffected), North Road, Factory Road, Salem Road and vice versa

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of New Street which extends from a point 550m north west of Wotton Road north eastwards for a 100m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with new water service connection works. The order will be operative from 24 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: B4058, Stumpwell Lane, Swinhay Lane and vice versa

(Pucklechurch Road, Hinton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Pucklechurch Road which extends from Rookery Lane to Dyrham Road. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 28 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9.30am and 3.30pm. 
Alternative route: Feltham Road, Abson Road, Westerleigh Road, Codrington Road, Wapley Road, Gloucester Road and vice versa

(Badminton Road, The Causeway and Woodside Road, Coalpit Heath) (Prohibition of Waiting and Loading) Order 202(-)
Details of the proposed changes
NOTICE is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council proposes to make an order under sections 1(1), 2(1), to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which will be to: a) prohibit any vehicle waiting or loading at any time in lengths of Badminton Road and Woodside Road, Coalpit Heath; and b) prohibit any vehicle waiting at any time in lengths of Badminton Road, Woodside Road and The Causeway, Coalpit Heath.

Exemptions in the order permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading goods subject to the provisions of a) above; delivering postal packets; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in accordance with the current provisions for vehicles displaying a disabled person’s badge. (Park Road, Thornbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Park Road which extends from The Castle School vehicle entrance north eastwards for 214m. Access will be maintained to any vehicle necessarily proceeding to a property that is accessible only from the restricted length of road and school buses and disabled access to The Castle School. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with active travel campaign and air quality improvements for cycling and walking to school. The order will be operative from 24 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration, between 8.15am and 8.45am, and 2.50pm and 3.20pm. Alternative route: Gloucester Road, Church Road, Tilting Road
