Lowestoft, Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions due to Works.
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A12 HORN HILL, BELVEDERE ROAD AND PIER TERRACE, LOWESTOFT
Suffolk County Council Intends to make an order closing the following roads:
• the A12 Horn Hill, Lowestoft from the roundabout with Tom Crisp Way to the roundabout with Belvedere Road
• the A12 Belvedere Road, Lowestoft
• the A12 Pier Terrace, Lowestoft.
This is to facilitate road markings works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A47, the A12, the A1144, the A1117, the B1531, the A12, the B1384, the B1532 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 03/06/2024 -05/06/2024 from 9pm - 4am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Suffolk Highways. Tel: 0345 606 6171.
TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON PART OF THE U6155 MILTON ROAD EAST AND THE 116164 POLICE STATION ROAD, LOWESTOFT
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads to facilitate the installation of new electrical and water connections.
• the U6155 Milton Road East, Lowestoft from the junction with Arnold Road to the junction with Police Station Road
• the U6146 Police Station Road, Lowestoft from the junction with Milton Road East for 40 metres southbound.
Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Police Station Road, Regent Road, Alexandra Road, Milton Road East and vice versa.
For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the one-way provision on the U6164 Police Station Road to allow for access and egress.
It is intended that these measures will operate from 03/06/2024 -21/06/2024 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
